Some context around this, from a markets person. Historically in LatAm, leftist victories have led to sharp losses over the ~3 months after an election where the left wins. Stocks also typically underperformed into those victories. But 3y post-election, returns for leftists have been *higher*.

RFK is being a huge bigot about the contributions of Arabs to science and the humanities. Please don’t try to counter his argument with evidence. Just call him a huge bigot.

Innovation’s gains reach far beyond the innovator. Musk can be insufferable to some, but reusable rockets, Starlink, and electric cars benefit millions. Personal dislike is no reason to obstruct human progress, writes Cato’s Marian Tupy. https://ow.ly/R92751013ZC

Lesson here goes way beyond weightlifting.

If you're in there putting in honest work and you post it, I'm gonna tell you that you're a badass and you should feel great about yourself; if you try to use that lift to claim superiority over other people, you're inviting comparisons to serious people, and that's probably not gonna go well

Colleague's boyfriend was in a golf cart and got hit in a roundabout. Some ugly injuries but will be OK. What got me is the driver said she couldn't see the cart because of sun glare, but hit it hard enough to knock it over and drag it for 30 feet. Drivers, if you can't see, stop!!

I love it so much when I can get in front of these folks and pedal 1.6 mph until the light.

Dickhead drove the entire length of 31st Street bike lane from Broadway to 31st Avenue to avoid maybe 20 seconds of traffic.

The achievement of Serbian students overthrowing Aleksandar Vučić can't be overstated. In 2024, they began protesting. In 2025, they transformed a protest movement into civil dissidence. In 2026, they became a political party — and two months later, crushed a corrupt state-entrenched authoritarian.

When you were a kid, what were your most UNDERRATED Halloween trick or treat candies? The ones that weren't your top favorites, but that you were still happy to get in your bag, and that never let you down

If you have an iPhone w/ the current OS, go into Settings, scroll to the bottom to click on Apps, scroll down to M & go into the Messages app, and flick this switch “screen unknown senders”. This dumps 99% political text messages into a folder you can separately check.

We literally have the largest bike-touring event in the world which has been an annual summer state tradition for FIFTY YEARS. There's a giant exhibit in the state historical museum about it. This is comical.

I've seen this survey making in the rounds in my work and man, I'm not a survey expert, but isn't the survey prime directive to avoid compound questions. The questions here are like doubly, triply, quadrupley compound: www.chhs.colostate.edu/prc/research...

chhs.colostate.eduCivic Capacity IndexThe Civic Capacity Index (CCI) measures dynamic processes related to collective leadership, inclusion of diverse voices, and how institutions and coalitions address shared challenges.

It’s clarifying in my view to get this out there. As much as he’s a buffoon, he’s immensely powerful and Congresspeople should understand that going after him has real risk. We need politicians committed enough to take that risk.
