Since 2004, this community has helped make Firefox and the open internet possible. Our “Come Back to Firefox” campaign reunites a few early internet icons to remind people what made the internet special, and why it’s worth protecting.

My Android userbase for #QRV is now double the Mac userbase! iOS is still way out in the lead, though. I don't use it on my Pixel nearly as much as iOS/Mac, so feedback is much appreciated! #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

if voting didn't matter they wouldn't be working so hard to stop you

The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

Quick update for QRV is coming. On the Duo, folding and unfolding will stop always opening the sidebar. On all versions, there's a button in the Callsign Lookup results that will open their lat/lon or address in your mapping app.

New update coming for #QRV! In addition to the big UI changes for iPad and prep for iPhone Duo, QRZ lookups will now show more information on every platform.

Well, I think that I have to remove SOTA entirely from QRV. I had it temporarily disabled in the app and in my API, but I don't foresee any changes to their API policy. Head over to sotawatch.sota.org.uk/en/ for all of your SOTA spotting needs!

Some more WIP on the iPad and Duo. For those curious: iPhone navigation is now push-based on router-held stacks, and iPad uses the standard split view; both are driven by the same state. This was important for the Duo, where the app will switch between the two views.

Without the shared state, you could pick a band on Live Spots, unfold, and lose your place. Or you could set up a bunch of filters in the DXCC view, fold, and lose all of them.

#QRV for iPad is getting a makeover to bring it closer to the Mac version than the iPhone version. This will also apply to folks with an iPhone Duo! 👀

When I check for users per gridsquare in the #QRV database, the 3rd highest count come from The Hague. Should I be nervous?

Now that the Android launch settled down, I have time to look at new features for #QRV. Next: Follow along with IARU beacons. See the schedule, see which frequencies are being used, and see where transmissions are coming from on a map! Early stages, but I hope to have something in the next week.

Still working on some performance improvements -- my original animation implementation was too heavy. But I think we're almost there!

IDK what's going on, but my macOS update for QRV that includes accounts and full cross-platform sync with Android has been help up In Review by Apple for over a week now. I sent them an email on Friday, but no response yet.

Currently working on my Stratum 1 timekeeping setup at home. The PPS module is wired up to a Raspberry Pi and collecting data, but I'm waiting for it to collect a bunch of data for a final calibration. My FT8 is about to be soooooo accurate. Side note: IPEX connectors can burn in hell

Want to know when to turn on the radio? Get QRV - now on Android! It has live spots for your grid, custom notifications for DXCC and DXpeditions, tons of band plans and reference material, and much more! New features added all the time. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio play.google.com/store/apps/d...

Trying to exclusively use the app on my Pixel 8a for a while… so many of the improvements on iOS came from my day-to-day use, so Android deserves the same treatment. I don't have a SIM card for it, so it's just a shack-phone.

And just like that: discovered a bug with account login that did not exist in beta. It's unique to how Android Studio packages the APK for production release. Google/Apple sign in are now fixed. Email sign in is coming with a 1.0.1 release shortly.

Everything the pro-Trump billionaire Ellison family will now own: Paramount+ CBS CNN Showtime HBO Warner Bros TNT TBS MTV DC Studios Nickelodeon Comedy Central And more... With this comes the power to decide which stories get told, but more importantly, which stories DON'T get told. Shameful.

If you have the iOS or Mac apps, all of your preferences, favorites, and alerts will sync with Android, but make sure that you create an account on the iOS/Mac app first in Settings (since Android can't access iCloud). A premium purchase on one platform is honored on the others.

#QRV 1.28 is out on iOS! 1.18 for Mac is still being reviewed. This adds a bunch of fixes, plus better account management. You can stay with iCloud and change nothing, but now you can see all your signed in devices. When Android releases, this will let you sync and share your premium purchase.

If you want to sync with Android down the road, you need to use one of the 3 account signin methods; Android cannot access your iCloud data.

I also rearranged the Settings pages to put notifications at the top, since that’s what I usually want to do when I navigate to Settings.

By the way. I've been hunting for a new iOS Dev opportunity for the last 4 months. Want help with the iPhone Duo makeover? Launching a startup that needs an iOS app? I can set up the coding/building infrastructure, CI pipelines, architecture, and ship your product.

You might notice that SOTA spots have stopped appearing in #QRV. Their team has changed the terms of the API, and I am evaluating whether it's feasible to continue providing SOTA spots. They have valid reasons, so no hard feelings in their direction. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

Sorry about the slowed pace of development on #QRV. I've been nose to the grindstone on the Android port, and it's required a ton of changes on the Apple side, too! I think I'll hit my self-imposed release deadline of Sept. 30th, and then I have some fun new features to add.

With all of the core changes to the codebase, it would be too hard to ship feature-ads while other stuff is still WIP. I know it's possible with worktrees, branches, and whatnot, but I'm just one person :-) #QRV #AmateurRadio

Once Android is out, they'll move in lock-step. My next feature-add, courtesy of 2E0WKW: a tool to help you listen to NCDXF Beacons, with live data and a map!

If anyone wants to go yolo (or was prepping) and passes the on site technician test here at 10a at #vcfmw. Come find me with your proof and I'll give you a 5r mini. Nothing fancy but not a terrible first ht. #hamradio. I've got two available. First come first serve.

Database migrations are scary stuff. Spent a lot of time stress-testing it on my Staging server (only for my testing) and found a few gotchas along the way. Happy to say that the production migration went off without a hitch! This will enable big things for #QRV soon :)

QRVは日本時のユーサーがいますか。日本語に翻訳するかもしれないが、ちょっとドキドキしていますよね。日本語をわかるユーサーがいれば、がんばります! #HamRadio #AmateurRadio

Golang SEO is making it impossible for me to find a good Go game for SNES/GBA/etc. Like, the game of Go with black and white pieces. Does anyone have recommendations? #RetroGaming #RetroGames

Shoutout to @proton.me for handling the recent server trouble today. Hardware failure is about as bad as it gets. Hopefully everybody enjoys a celebratory drink of their choice this evening.
