Since 2004, this community has helped make Firefox and the open internet possible. Our “Come Back to Firefox” campaign reunites a few early internet icons to remind people what made the internet special, and why it’s worth protecting.

It's "Where the hell is Matt?" not "Where the h*ll is Matt?" Stop self-censoring when you don't even need to. You can say the word hell on YouTube and Bluesky. Hell, hell, hell, hell. See? Considering switching to LibreWolf over this.

Firefox used to be a good browser but "racing weight" is what I need nowadays. Firefox isn't that. This is a great ad though and I enjoyed it way more than I would've ever expected to

I'm running Brave on a Linux Mint OS and compared to everything else I've tried, this qualifies as racing weight to me. It is far and away the best combination I've found for my needs

in the closing dance scene I count 3 people who didn't appear anywhere else in the video. Are they Internet Celebrities who recorded clips that weren't good enough to use in the final version? who are they?

Everyone in my house has used Firefox for years. I like not being stalked online by corporate America, and I really like that I can chose to turn off the AI features in the program if I want to. If your privacy matters, use Firefox.

Commercial greed has ruined the internet, just like it does with everything else. What is supposed to be a method for the advancement of learning and knowledge is nothing more than a tool to fleece people out of their money with the latest Ponzi scheme being AI.

Lmao a year after your dev account said 'if AI was default off, nobody would use it' and 'opt-in means opting in to not use it' y'all need an entire ad campaign to get people back? Go figure.

People trusted you to resist AI, you disappointed them. Maybe it's not too late to rebuild that trust.

A built-in local translation tool is very convenient. The only other use is…naming tab groups. These are reasonable use cases and can easily be disabled, so calm down.

Also you’re at Canonical, do you not use Ubuntu? Look how much trash your company keeps shipping.

What's trash about Ubuntu? Yes I use Ubuntu or derivatives every day, it was my first distro in 2006-2008 (way before I joined) and it keeps improving 🤷

So-called "ai" is the worst thing to happen to the internet. Bold of y'all to do this kind of ~feel good~ content after pushing ai functions that no-one asked for in our browser. Don't even want to watch it, bc wtfh, guys.

not even a year after pivoting into AI, you suddenly need a "please come back" ad. I wonder why. I greatly appreciate your work on the engine, but I cannot recommend the stock Firefox. I encourage everyone to study, customize and own their browser. don't trust the trend-blinded companies.

Their AI features were terrible exaggerated Right now they only have: An Ai-sidebar which you dont need tl even use. AI local translation which is a good thing (the alternative is giving more info to Google) Summary vía AI which whatever And they also have a master switch you can disable all AI

They didn't have a master switch to disable A.I. when it was introduced to Firefox, and it really was the last straw for me. I was given long slow instructions on how to disable it all, and Firefox was crashing clnstantly anyhow, so I simply gave up. Good to know their attitude finally changed.

There's not much point of a master switch when they introduced since back then they only had 2 settings, you can just disable those 2

I can't help but feel like this plays into the Zombie IP discourse of glorifying the "good old days" instead of embracing what's new and fun. Maybe that's just me.

Your constantly breakingn the user interface for no reason and your embrace of GPTs/LLMs is why I left Firefox for Waterfox some months ago. I started using Netscape 1.0. I have a paid Relay account. I've been a loyal user but you've alienated me.

Do you use it as a browser as well as a search engine? I knew it originally as a search engine, didn't know they also had a browser. Just to clarify, Firefox is a browser, where you can use anything as a search engine.

the reason i left firefox years was constant stuttering when scrolling pages, even through a fresh install, now, theres many other reasons i will never be returning to firefox

Every web browser seems to get more and more bloated over time. The reason you want me to come back is because I left when it took minutes to start Firefox. AT&T had a we want you back ad campaign once, it didn't work.

web standards are strictly additive nothing ever gets removed the bloat is built into the platform specifications, so every browser is bloated and always will be

Kinda. Plenty has been removed from Firefox over the years though. Assorted HTML features, FTP, live bookmarks, RSS reader, 3D Page Inspector, Hello, and Pocket to name a few. Upcoming is the removal of XSLT support.

I've used Firefox since its Netscape days with various crummy computers and still use Thunderbird even though it's still clunky. FF still dodges paywalls and eludes YT annoying adds with its excellent add-ons and extensions. Switch between Opera and Firefox. Best of both worlds. Good on you Mozilla.

very marketing core but I appreciate their performances more than most marketing. feels weird to respond to AI backlash but not actually change anything? I guess I don't understand FireFox, its not chromium like almost every other browser but like, are you all making a privacy browser or a product?

Hello, after using it for years I'm currently *leaving* Firefox for LibreWolf because you embraced "AI", and because your new UI design is bad and unnerving. I think it is deeply dishonest to be talking about the Internet being "worth protecting" after you join with the forces trying to destroy it.

(This is without even getting into the entire fiasco that was "privacy-preserving ad measurement", or the fact you now expect us to agree to a terms of service [???] to use a web browser. We aren't using your service? We are using the web? That is the point?)

(Actually the box calls it a "Terms of Use", sorry. I remain confused and unsettled however.)
