๐ŸšจSuper excited to share this new WP with Joohye Jeong, @adamberinsky.bsky.social, Soong & Parker. I have spent far more time thinking and talking about AI policy than I thought I would when I became co-editor at AJPS a year ago. Here is the latest iteration of our policy.

The American Journal of Political Science has updated it's policy on AI accountability and transparency for authors and reviewers. Read the Editor's Blog here: ajps.org/2026/08/11/r.... The updated policy can be referenced here: ajps.org/ajps-ai-poli....

I cross-referenced my database of candidates against credible voter fraud cases. GOP politicians are implicated at 50xโ€“38,000x the general public's rate. Yet even if every American voted with the integrity of a GOP candidate, it still wouldn't come close to justifying making voting one iota harder.

FIFA referee to be investigated for mortgage fraud.

Trump on Balogun: "That wasn't even an infraction...this referee, who is a little bit suspect if you check his past. He made a call nobody could believe...he's our best player, or one of our best players. And he gave him a red card. I didn't know what that meant...yes, I asked for a review by FIFA."

A measurement problem compounds the design problem. If an intervention makes people reject false claims but also reject true ones, current evaluation frameworks call that a success. Measuring truth discernment โ€” the gap between belief in true and false content โ€” gives a more honest answer. (4/5)

The replication crisis showed that most behavioral interventions produce small effects. But a small improvement, replicated reliably, means millions of people with more accurate beliefs. Our goal isn't a misinformation-free world. It's making things better at the margin. (2/5)

Instead of asking which intervention wins, I we should ask how different interventions work together. Borrowing public health's "Swiss cheese model": no single layer is airtight, but stacking imperfect layers with different strengths creates broader protection than any one approach alone. (3/5)
