Today, I'm proud to announce that we formalized the PJM Governors’ Collaborative - a multi-state, bipartisan organization designed to hold PJM accountable. We are working together to reduce costs for working families and strengthen grid reliability.

The "bike highway S" between York and Lancaster was kind of a joke. Wide shoulders but plenty of pinches and lots of traffic. Lovely bridge over the Susquehanna river. Time to head West.

NEW: i dove deep into the plans for several massive power plants being built specifically to power data centers crucially, they're designed much less efficiently than gas-fired power plants that are connected to the electric grid: www.wired.com/story/real-r...

wired.comThe Real Reason Data Center Gas Power Plants Are So DirtyA massive new gas plant in Texas will be built with much less efficient technology than regular gas plants. It’s far from the only data center power project to rely on dirty turbines.

My entry into the warmest year discourse... Over the years, I've used a couple of methods to estimate annual mean anomalies before they happen - using projected ENSO signals at the end of the previous year, or just from the relationship between the YTD data and the final annual average.

4/⚡Renewable expansion rate relative to what would be needed to meet 2030 targets: In the first half of 2026, PV expansion reached only 79% of the required pace, onshore wind 42%, and offshore wind 52%. Only offshore wind saw an acceleration; PV and onshore wind experienced a (relative) slowdown.

Same, never grew up with it ever being like this, and I lived in Chicago’s SE side which was full of steel mills and heavy industry at the time. AQI reached 747 last night and was the #1 worst AQ in the world. The new norm for Chicago, in addition to the “normal” pollution + heat. #climatechange

One of the reasons I wanted to move back up to the PNW is bc of how brown & smoke-ridden LA was getting each year. Then it came for the PNW, too. Growing up in Seattle, we only had a handful of 80+ days in the summer, and NEVER smoke weather. Now heatwaves and air quality alerts are a June-Oct norm.

Agree, but its also time for progressives to stop slamming moderates, especially in swing districts. We are moving from primary to general season and a blue wall needs all the bricks.

Dem moderates' job right now is to check the far right. the years of left punching are over. your allies are democratic socialists, not republicans. it is a matter of political survival.

Carbon dioxide averaged nearly 431 ppm in April 2026 (new record high) 10 years ago April averaged about 408 ppm. Preliminary data from gml.noaa.gov/ccgg/trends/... This is really concerning, and it isn’t going away. The longer we wait, the worse the impacts get and the harder they are to address.

Denmark's coal-to-wind transition is one of the most dramatic energy transformations of the past three decades. In 1990, coal provided 90% of Danish electricity. Today it is under 3%. Wind now covers roughly 60% of electricity generation. The last coal plant is scheduled to close by 2028.
