My 1st for @thelever.bsky.social examines Big Oil donations to TX Railroad Commission candidate Bo French from 7/1 to 9/24—well after French's open racism had become well reported on by myself and others. In other words, here's the Big Oil donors who are funding French despite of his naked extremism

levernews.comAmerica’s Most Fascist Candidate, Brought To You By Big OilA Texas candidate trafficking in white-nationalist politics has found powerful allies among the oil interests he promises to deregulate.

A key thing to keep saying for the next 2+ years as Republicans and tech fascists try to scam their way to permanent political power: They're lying because they're losing.

Team Paxton appears to have sent out fake mailers to Texas voters impersonating a trans student group and claiming to want to help kids secretly transition. The actual group said they had nothing to do with it, despite the mailers copying their aesthetic, and the address traces to a random UPS box.

They may have scraped the bottom of the barrel here, but at least there is a bottom to the barrel.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Trump, after bipartisan backlash, says Pentagon won't livestream firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter.

Still shocks me there hasn't been a public campaign to get United and American airlines to drop their Starlink contracts. Feels like the perfect target to wedge Musk from corporate America.

Musk unilaterally shut off a defensive capability just as Russia attacked power plants with winter approaching I don't know why anyone trusted him before, but certainly nobody can afford an Elon Musk dependency after this

Another reason the oil and gas industry backs Republicans: they love war.

They want to normalize seeing people killed in public so they can kill more people in public. It's a prelude to open warfare.

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

"100 million monthly Life360 members open the app 6x a day on average, giving brands a permissioned view into real-life movement and context that helps them build awareness before these decisions get made." This is actually a dystopia, sorry

Last night, we learned Elon Musk is pouring money into Michigan to defeat our movement. Musk, Trump, and their MAGA allies are spending millions against me. It means our people powered campaign standing up to corporate power is scaring them. And we're not going to back down.

I hate it so much. This can happen to you too. A year ago, almost everyone doubted this would happen. I had faculty at other schools telling me I was hysterical. (Irony!) Watch for the installation of right wing figureheads without an academic background. Watch for assaults on faculty governance.

I think we're having an elite panic about AI over fake extinction stories, and not one about data centers and carbon pollution, simply because they think that data centers and carbon pollution only affect people poorer than them.

Kids are forced to be on Twitter. Wweets include: "While kids at normal schools take a bus to a museum, we’re getting split into 10 tribes to build tarp shelters with no tents." "my team proved that we are smarter than 85% of Harvard students by climbing Mount Everest with 4 other students."

The big media buying companies are secretly some of the worst actors in our economy. They took billions in kickbacks to direct money to Google's ad networks, which destroyed independent media. They then lied to their clients about the true costs of their buys. everything-pr.com/wpp-foster-s...

I raise this issue because ad tech is extremely complicated, an intentionally obscured market where bad actors flourish and fair players suffer. It is an accelerating problem that has a deep responsibility in the failure of democracy worldwide. You can learn more about that here: checkmyads.org

I keep thinking about how Republicans had a chance to kill Paxton's political career during his impeachment in 2023. Dan Patrick chickened out, and now they're stuck with him forever. Entirely self-inflicted.

Exxon: carbon capture's potential is "limitless" and we are leaders in CCS! Also Exxon: suing the EU so as not to be forced to do CCS. This is the least surprising thing ever.

Doug Parr@dougparr.bsky.social

Exxon is annoyed EU is insisting on some kind of CO2 capture Makes most sense if you think oil company advocacy for CCS is more about pretending to politicians they have an answer for climate change, rather than their actual willingness to do anything about it giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/...

I've been successfully goading my friends into trying German Volume Training and it's so much fun to watch them get mad at set 7 or 8. Everyone thinks they're tough shit until they've done roughly 78 back squats and there are still 22 more to go.

100 back squats is always here for you. 100 back squats will never leave you on read. 100 back squats won't ever ask you to opt-in to their AI system. 100 back squats offers real answers to the toughest questions: The answer is 100 back squats.
