New app! If you have any #logitech #litra lights and want to turn them on with a single tap - LitraSwitch is for you. It puts a software toggle for your lights in your menu bar. #macOS #macdev #indiedev #swift litraswitch.app

I love this tree.

I just remembered that part of Red Dead when you cross the river and this song kicks on for your dramatic ride into the Mexican wilderness. Iconic video game moment.

If anyone has been curious about on-device AI on #android, I have been playing around with the ML Kit #GenAI APIs for a bit. My latest post in the series includes a full demo app if you want to play around. #AndroidDev

Latest WSJ poll: "63% want to pause AI development 61% want a billionaire wealth tax 59% want Medicare for All 57% want a $20 minimum wage 58% want to end U.S. military aid to Israel" This is the center of the country politically. it is time all adjust to this political spectrum, esp. media.

My first real IT job I was re-imaging a bunch of mechanical engineers' desktop computers to Windows 7. They hated me. I remember there were two Ethernet cables in the tech lab, one of which got around the draconian firewall. I'd manually switch them so I could read BBC Science to kill time.

This is a really, really great conversation with Jake, covering everything from the history of Kotlin to how he's dealing with the current trends around AI, and what he's working on these days.

#dnd 2e Dark Sun night! 🤓 #ttrpg #osr

happy labor day

Beautiful day in northeast Ohio 🎨☀️🌳

🤔 Checks out.

For about a month before my daughter was born I was going on morning walks every day. All summer I haven't, because of newborn life and just not carving out the precious time during the day. And it has been depressing me. I went on walks the last two days, and I feel 5x better already. Crazy.

I posted about building a D&D virtual "DM's Assistant" using Gemini Nano on-device models on Android. A fun app to build that has been actually helping me in my home games. #androiddev #gemini #gemma

"The companies have not yet reached a deal, and the talks could still fall apart, the person said." lol… Anyone else in the class wondering what exactly Hugging Face is/does that is worth 13B? Or is that just me…

Crazy how many of my favorite 'new' movies are from 15 years ago 😭

People give a lot of credit to Stranger Things and other cultural touchstones like Critical Role for boosting #dnd to the mainstream, but a lot of credit should go to #5e too. If the same shows dropped when #2e was hot, I think it'd be a different story.

I bought a 27" Thunderbolt Display from Goodwill auction for like $15 (plus 4x that in shipping, lol). Today I thought I was smelling my furnace or laundry kicking on but actually it was the display fans kicking on for the first time lol 🌬️

The collection is growing dangerously. Picked up another stack of used #dnd #5e books, plus the #pathfinder core rulebook to finish that rules collection. Idk if I'm proud or ashamed to share the current state of the shelf, but here it is!

Some thoughts on the 'Dark Sun' announcement from #dnd at GenCon (just as my gaming group starts a #2e adventure in the original setting)

Thoughts from watching Heat (1995): I stand by my take that the grading is terribly off-putting. 1995 computers looked awesome. GTA V (Heat the game) needed someone in the Pacino role. Wished we had Tangerine Dream back for the soundtrack. Overall - it felt like an epic & was a lot of fun.

This is a great idea. A good reminder to push the creativity on your players whenever possible. #dnd #ttrpg

Idk what fields are the most likely to get follow up questions during getting-to-know-you small talk, but I know that saying you're a "software engineer" isn't among them

I might be playing IRL #dnd with my friends tomorrow for the first time in two years. 🥹

Take me back to Y2K Star Wars #starwars #ttrpg

Got a walking pad for my standing desk… someone ask me about this in a month please #accountabilibuddies

I remember being so enticed by the idea of Star Wars Galaxies as a kid. I couldn't imagine a game so huge could exist. I was too young and had no money to play it so the game existed purely as a fantasy to me. This video diving into the game's development story is one of the best from noclip.

GTA VI took long enough to release that I'm going to be buying/playing it just for the nostalgia of my GTA V release day experience

The #pathfinder 2e Bestiary is really cool coming from the #dnd Monster Manual. I like the format of the Bestiary a lot more, though the stat blocks are easier to read in the Monster Manual(s). Also this is making me realize what the 5.5e MM drops for brevity - for better or worse.

Maybe my proudest auction win yet is this collection of #pathfinder books, including both Bestiary books, the Gamemastery Guide, and a bunch of Lost Omens guidebooks. So excited to dive into this world! #ttrpg

I may have found a new vice that is very dangerous. Bidding on odd nerdy items from Goodwill online. Logged on last night when tons of auctions were ending and wound up with two old Apple monitors, a couple Lego sets and some RPG books in a matter of minutes. Help. #apple #lego #ttrpg

Today I learned the #dnd supplement Ghosts of Saltmarsh is out of print and hard to find in physical form. And so I have my new quest.

Latest #dnd acquisition is the 2nd edition perspective on the City of Splendors ✨

Android is now Compose-first: developer.android.com/develop/ui/c... It was years in the making, and I'm happy to see it's finally here!

So my buddy @bobworldbuilder.bsky.social is doing a poll about favorite TTRPGs. But he needs a signal boost beyond his own fanbase. So, for science (or simply for Bob, because he's a nice guy), can you take a minute to do this simple, 2-question survey? docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

If you're into #dnd but want to play something a little more dangerous and focused, Dungeon Crawl Classics offers a ton. Let this sale be an excuse to dip your toe into an awesome system with troves of awesome adventure content. #dcc #ttrpg

When the only thing stopping you from writing an iOS app today is you can't find your USB-C cable quick enough in your office to debug on device. Guess we'll work on that tomorrow.

Absolutely incredible. NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone. Watch with sound on.

CBS, Fox, the Washington Post, and Twitter are all owned by Trump-loving billionaires and soon CNN will be too. Here's why American media has a liberal bias problem.
