MaterialX v1.39.5 is released! This release of MaterialX has the largest set of contributors in the history of our project, and includes support for the Slang shading language, 2D and 3D flake nodes, improvements to the MaterialX Graph Editor, and much more. github.com/AcademySoftw...

I just wrapped a new Houdini study with the goal to polish full pipeline production on a simpler motion design piece where the narrative is key. Key lesson — complexity isn't everything — control is. Do you want to see the scene breakdown? @sidefx.bsky.social #motiondesign #cgi #sidefxhoudini

Ever wonder why some digital products look "flat" while others look mouth-watering? It’s all in the condensation. Need intentional, high-end visuals for your brand? Let’s talk. #sidefxhoudini #sidefxkarma #productrendering #3d #cgi #breakdown

I've just heard this from Kaye Han from AnyType team. This really resonates with me. I'm so tired of the "everything cloud" and SaaS model. Really want to see this SaaE model succeed. I think it's the way forward. #anytype #localfirst #selfhosting

Peter (@petercubic.bsky.social) made a few really great courses for Karma including this intro to Karma. It's pretty much all you need to get you up to speed if you never touched this renderer. It's amazing to get such high quality courses for free. Great job Peter and SideFX! #sidefxhoudini

I still wish to see someday such courses integrated into the documentation. It would add so much value when you can also see visual examples and functionality explained where you're actually looking for it — inside the documentation or specific nodes. #sidefxhoudni

Welcome Dell to the Blender Development Fund as Corporate Gold sponsor, supported by NVIDIA! This enables general Blender development, with the goal of continuously improving content creation tools that will benefit the entire community. fund.blender.org #b3d #DevFund #delltech #NVIDIA

This is a great talk! Learned a lot and would love to see some actual traction in open source to focus on UX as well. So many of us could have an easier time moving to Linux from Windows which has become an unbearable pile of AI driven garbage.

My Ubuntu Summit talk is up! Where I talk about: 1. How Desktop UX is effectively dead 2. Why I hate the term UX/UI with the heat of 1000 suns 3. How OSS can actually innovate in #ux www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fZT...

Love the recipes functionality SideFX introduced in Houdini 20.5. It proved to be very useful. You don't need to rely on HDAs for some additional functionality anymore or legacy presets system. It's way easier now to extend existing nodes with recipes. Such a time saver! #houdini #sidefxhoudini

Yeah, it's a good principle to live by as a professional creative.

I changed the way I work a couple of months ago to follow this advice, it made a big difference and my productivity went up by miles. (I don't know who made this image, if you do, let me know so they can be credited)
