If Duke is lying, it's to protect his loved ones and keep them from being worried about him.
A specific case is he's lying about dating the Deputy Town Lord, Ria, though everyone knows it. Who doesn't know is Ria's vampire brother, the Count.
I've mentioned this before, but one of my dream scenes is to take the creepy floating vampire kid scene from Salem's Lot and adopt it to a scene, but the context is that it's an angry vampire who's worried about his baby sister dating some dhampir.
Lula winning is great for the planet, great for Brazil, and great for people who aren't revanchist assholes everywhere in the world, but let's not forget that it's also going to make some of the worst people on Earth extremely sad and mad. We should enjoy that, as a little treat.
Movies seem a lot less scary when real life presents fear so blatantly, but we continue into our month long spooky but not too spooky movies. Beth and Michelle take a trip to Hill House and try to guess the room colors.
As we get deeper into our Supertobertacular the not so scary, but scarier than the last movie is The Haunting, 1963. We talk about the general stillness of the movie and the use of sound in the place of movement. And how to not do science while performing science.
A little sleepy, but getting things going today with the Twitch stream. Have a few games and demos (way too many, to be honest) and we'll see what I can take a look at today!
I think we're in for another early chill, afternoon sun Sunday today. ๐

Gunner plushie. A plushie of a big black cat with a white mark in the middle.
Also t-shirts with "Deus Ex Machi-cat" and Gunner's face.
One of those Roots of Fight shirts that's red and has the words "Crimson Wolf" written on it and a silhouette of Finn in a fighting post.

Finn - good news from all of the animals because he's an animal lover.
Lacei - good news from a dog and bad news from a sheep.
Ash - good news from a dog and bad news from a parrot.

Watching a playthrough of the Conjuring video game on my tv and started listening to "It's Raining Men" (thank you Street Fighter)
Fun fact: Annabelle the Doll loves "It's Raining Men." Almost as much as she loves Scott Steiner promos.

Single player all the way. I don't mind couch co-op or online multiplayer if it's a game I've played for a long time and/or I know the people I'm playing with.
When you buy a book, you're not just buying a ready made experience or adventure, but you'll also helping authors pay their bills, their groceries, and making life a little bit better for you both.

I had one and forgot it, so I'll use this.
If you're referencing public domain stories, whether it's adding minor elements from past tales or ... rewriting it, what elements would you keep or take out.
Finn is the son of Carmilla Van Radmer, a nod to Carmilla. (cont.)
Finn's parentage was inspired by the Bird Cage.
Do I need elements from the Carmilla story in Finn's narrative? Castelvania's Dracula doesn't mention anything about the Harkers or Lucy.
I've thought about adding Laura and the General in some ways, but not in Finn's early stories.
Initially I wanted to have a Ryu-Ken relationship with Finn and Laura's daughter. Laura brings her daughter Wyllow to Carmilla for training because Wyllow's father died and it's affected Laura's ability to govern. That was when I was making it more like Street Fighter and had no Gunner.

Not the same Carmilla as Le Fanu's Carmilla but they share similarities - they're into women and they're powerful vampires. Finn's mom is similar to Castlevania's Dracula in that she travels the world, a Countess and care for her people.
Finn's dad is a fey noble who runs a drag troupe.

Watched Street Fighter. I liked it. Shot well, good fight scenes, and lots of sf characters doing stuff that sf characters do.
I really enjoyed the humor and David's Bison. Making him essentially a cult leader was a good way to make it different than Julia's.
I still think Assassin's Fist takes that top spot. And of course there's the SF II anime movie. Nothing touches that.
I did love the animated flashbacks in this movie and I kind of wanted the entire movie to be that.

I've seen the memes about "where is the tournament?" I get that. But the story was about Ryu and Ken and I thought they did it well for the most part. There was 1 nitpick I had and I get why they used that beat.
To steal someone's quote, it's probably the best live action theater adaption.

With regards Three Hammers Bakery (cozy fantasy), I want folks to be entertained but also think "hey, it's not a Legends and Latte clone" (nothing against L&L).
With the Finn dhampir story, I also want folks to be entertained but think "oh a dhampir can be fun and sweet."
Let's be idealistic today #pretendpanel . I know that when the work hits the reader, it can hit wrong, but in an ideal world, how would it look...
October 17th: What do you want readers to take from this work?
