Listen, I don't have an issue with ResistLib memes floating across my timeline periodically, AS LONG as you also talk to me about your music tastes, sports teams, kids, job, etc. Just ... be a person. If all you are is a politics meme generator you're going to get muted. 🤷

I know not everyone is deep into numbers and numbers can be frustrating when they don't reflect your feelings and your experiences. But if you make it to adulthood you should understand that a median value doesn't mean "everyone." It just means "most people."

"this chart says people are doing OK" doesn't mean "everyone is doing ok." It means "most people are doing OK." That's it. If you aren't doing OK, then you are one of the ones who isn't. It doesn't mean the chart is wrong.

You laugh but we wrote a slack bot to do this at my office because picking lunch was taking so long

Colin@colin-fraser.net

I had my AI agent create an app called “Lunch” to help me with decision fatigue and boost my productivity. It has a few pictures of things I might like to eat. Tapping one spawns a subagent to order that item on Uber Eats and 60-90 minutes later I’m eating. It’s 600 thousand lines of JavaScript.

I would rather we had another 10 years of Marvin Lewis than this absolute incompetence year after year with a complete refusal to change or improve anything.

He did exactly what he always does. He had a stupid game plan, we sucked, he went into the locker and came out with "just throw it up to Chase and Tee like Joe wanted to do all along." And crazy, it worked.

We go to Cheesecake factory for cheesecake fairly regularly. I haven't eaten a meal there that wasn't paid for by my work in like 20 years and that was always just lunch.

Judy, I think you're confused about what "beyond reproach" means. Call me, I just want to chat.

Do I think Brown has a better than 40% chance to win right now? Yes. Do I think Acton does... Probably not. And if it's against Tressel I think it's sub-10%. BUT do I see a pathway where Acton beats Ramswammy? Yep. It's the one where Trump keeps being Trump and Brown wins the Senate.

#1 here is not specific but even in the broadest sense I don't think it's right. I bet 50% of people at least have a casual trans acquaintance. And I don't mean "their barista at Starbucks." I mean, you know their name and they know yours. It's a small nitpick but I think it's worth saying.

John Cluverius@johncluverius.bsky.social

1) very few people know trans people personally, so very few people care that much about trans issues 2) most people who care a ton about them are GOPers who don’t trust any Dem on trans issues. 3) yet the public broadly trusts Dems more on trans issues 4) Dems don’t win votes by being anti-trans

I don't think the OP means anything bad here. I suspect they know trans people themselves because academics. But I think they underestimate how normal it is to know trans people personally even outside of academics.

And I fully acknowledge I know a lot more than average because of gaming and youth leadership stuff, but just purely based on the math I am doing in my head, if even 5% of people are trans you blow past 50% of people knowing a trans person IRL really fast.

Like, I don't think you can know young people without knowing someone gender non-conforming or trans and you might just not know they are nby or trans identifying because they are young and it's not as obvious but try talking leading any youth org. And that's before we even get to adult friendships.

Agree with this but this season 75% of the Honey Crisp and adjacent varieties have been flavorless to the point where I'm wondering if there was too much rain and crops sucked?

I've seen some skepticism on the "drags down the entire GOP ticket" conversation and I think people are missing why this is true. Many Ohio GOP voters dislike Vivek. Because racism and healthcare billionaire. They already think Brown is going to win, they are running out of reasons to even show up.

Like we already know the top of the ticket is what gets people to show up and vote. Tons of data on this. Senate and Gov are the top of the ticket. If the Gov candidate is seen as slimy and unlikable people who would have voted for him just *won't.* And Dr Acton is already hitting 50-51%.

And if you aren't convinced on the Brown thing, only 44% of surveyed voters think Husted will win. There's a lot of confidence around Brown. Not as much around Acton even while she's leading in polls. Husted is *not* getting people to the polls. Now it's not clear Vivek can either.

If they don't show up, the GOP loses a bunch of house and state seats. Period. Now you're basically asking guys like Max Miller to be *the reason voters show up to vote at all* and I do not think that is a winning strategy.

The Rooster reported that this attack ad on Amy Acton was being polled. That's why it doesn't have a disclaimer. The ad was leaked by somebody, not put on the air as far as we know. The biggest journalistic question right now is verifying who paid for it.

This is because Statement 2 is worded badly. "...when it leads people away..." To a Christian it translates as "is empathy bad when it's bad?" Yeah you're gonna get some people saying yes to that. This is a terrible survey.

It doesn't translate that way to atheists because the clause is about "God" and they just read it and go "well there's no god so.... No?"

"wealth inequality" is an imperfect term. Wealth inequality is fine. It's wealth concentration that is the problem. It's the fact that capital produces more capital at a rate that labor cannot match, which creates accelerating wealth concentration. Still, I appreciate the sentiment.

Even in the ad where Vivek pays the estranged mother of his opponent to bash her, he can't get the octogenarian to actually *endorse him.*

The Rooster@rooster.info

Wrote last week on The Rooster about Conman cutting an ad with Amy Acton's estranged mother as his "October surprise." Well, here it is. Polling on it just went out.

How embarrassing is that? Like did his campaign ask her and she just responded with a bunch of slurs? The best they could do is get her to spew rage at her daughter that hasn't spoken to her in decades? I'd love to see her do an interview and see what she says unscripted.

Absolutely no one is going to be swayed by this. There are 0 people who were going to vote Dem and change their mind because of this, and no swing voters for whom this is their top issue who weren't already voting GOP. This is a gargantuan waste of money for whatever PAC did it.

You don't actually have to nationalize it and probably can't. But you can threaten it with such severe consequences that you force a sale to someone more friendly. It's not the first time we've been dependent on a private business for our military by any means.

We've got to nationalize SpaceX. We have no choice. We can't operate our military without them and we can't trust them to serve our national interest. There is literally no other option.

So the Democrat strategy for the last two years has been "do nothing, let the GOP take all the blame." And it is working. For the next two years that has to change to "Do lots of things and force Donny to veto them. Let the GOP take all the blame." Hopefully they understand that.
