Using generative AI for imagery is **directly harmful** to artists, graphic designers, photographers etc. This isn't a vague moral argument: this is just normal, standard theft, except at a completely new scale and social acceptability. We need to reverse that. www.instagram.com/reel/DY2L2-g...

Pride was born as a riot, and has always been an act of defiance. During my life, I survived an internment camp. I came out at 68. I've watched rights get won and now watch them being rolled back. Yet I'm still here, still proud, and still holding Brad's hand.

Morning! Sorry that I'm not active here... I mostly live on Mastodon now.

Iono's Wattrel from Pokemon Mega Evolution Ascended Heroes has been REVEALED! #pokemon #pokemontcg

You are made of magic. Keep creating ✨

Throwback time! Woohoo!! Years ago I needle felted this little DuckTales family — Scrooge, Webby, and the boys. They’ve been living on my shelf ever since, but it’s time for them to find new homes. If you’d like to adopt the whole set, they’re now up on my Ko-fi shop! ko-fi.com/s/b67cb166cc

A Japanese game studio now asks art applicants to draw a picture during the interview process, to prove they don't just use generative AI. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/a-japan...

Morning! Back at the Coffee Shop. Quite busy in here today. Perhaps people were attracted in by the Xmas Tree and decorations in the windows 🎄 Didn’t fancy much food yet, so did a pay-it-forward. Nice to be among people instead of WFH on my own. #WFH #CoffeeShop #Freelance #Indy #PayItForward

I may have linked this before, but it doesn't matter because it's an epic Mixmag set by Ki/Ki youtu.be/E-6LmxvUiMk?... #KiKi #Music

Anyone here use either those rubbery Apple Pencil tips or a matte screen protector? I would love to use my iPad for art more, but find the slippy screen difficult. If I can make it feel more like my Wacom tablet, I will be happy. Suggestions welcome! #Apple #Procreate #iPad #Wacom #Art

Morning! I discovered yesterday that the community coffee shop that I occasionally work from supports Pay-It-Forward. They even have a donation page on their site for it. I love awesome stuff like that ♥️ #Freelance #PayItForward #Coffee ☕

Back home again, but this was a nice spot to work from for a few hours. #WFH #Freelance #Coffee #iPad #CoffeeShop

Well, it’s been virtually the only game I played for the last 5 years, but this means fuck you and bye, Fortnite.

Dude nobody talks about how hard it is to lose love for your comfort hobby/ OC like it’s so fucking devastating its like losing a limb, a part of yourself that you were able to explore in a safe environment when real life couldn’t give you that.

Happy Vegan Thanksgiving!! Let's honor this day with love and kindness for all animals. 🦃❤️ #thanksliving #veganthanksgiving #thanksvegan #vegans #thanksgiving

Morning! Current mood — 🌧☕ 🎧

And another 5kg of Jasmine rice aquirred! #AchievementUnlocked

So, 5kg of Jasmine Rice has lasted me for 46 days. I think that's ok for three people! That's a lot of Curries, Kimchi Bokeumbap and Tofu Fried Rice! #Food #Rice

Morning! I think I've found the best breakfast ever. Jumbo Rolled Oats, Alpro Oat Milk (No Sugar), topped with Strawberries, and a milled Flaxseed, Sunflower, Pumpkin & Chia Seeds & Goji Berries mix, and a few drops of Maple Syrup 😋 #Vegan #Breakfast

I warmed up a Croissant, and put some strawberry jam in it 🥐🍓 #AfternoonSnack #NomNomNom

I've had a really productive day in #InDesign. For some reason, I really like it 😅

Morning! I slept well, but woke up kinda early. So, I popped my AirPods in and watched The Wrath of Khan under the duvet 😂 #StarTrek #Morning

Recently, I’ve very much noticed the extra steps involved in doing anything online… Navigating cookie notices and popups, skipping adverts, dealing with spam and scam messages. Even as I type this, autocorrect is doing its best to get in the way! And why is there no edit function here!? 😩

I am too lazy to reformat this one - best read the thread on front-end.social linked below, then feel free to come back here and comment if you like :) It's a little commentary thread based on this article: www.theverge.com/2023/10/23/2...

What is each new console gen delivering over its predecessor recently? Higher resolution, and better frame rates? Maybe faster load times… but what else? Is the astronomical cost of the consoles, and increased game development times worth the added realism? #gaming

My local supermarket has no Hummus. I feel like some kind of line has been crossed 🤔

LEGO as therapy for later! #lego

I wonder if XBox is worse off financially since raising Game Pass prices, due to the amount of subscribers they've either lost, or who have downgraded? I cancelled Ultimate at what would have been £22.99 month, and grabbed Essentials instead at £6.99 month. #XBox #GamePass #Greed #Gaming

Morning!

Be the thing in the woods that terrifies the townfolk.

As I woke up a bit early today, I now declare it to be lunch!

Yeah, this… 100% this

I thought I just dislocated my bay leaf while cooking a chilli, it took me ages to find it! I’m really not sure if they add all that much to the flavour either 🤔 #cooking #vegan

I am trying to reinforce my gold mansion by buying and melting more gold to coat the walls in

I’m an hour early for a meeting that I organised 😅 Glad it’s just an online one

Morning… I have a painful throbbing. Send Tylenol. #headache

All the creatives who use an Affinity tool as their daily driver are currently holding their collective breaths awaiting the horror that will be unleashed on October 30th. I'm pretty sure "Creative Freedom" means something very different to us than it does to the business bros. affinity.serif.com

This week’s Video Games Industry Memo argues that Saudi Arabia’s acquisition of EA is a power grab of a soft power asset by an authoritarian state, enabled by Jared Kushner‘s inappropriately close relationship with MbS. It’s an affront to democracy. www.videogamesindustrymemo.com/p/a-kushy-de...
