They control all 3 branches of govt, SCOTUS, MSM, law enforcement, most of the wealth and the playing field with no line they won’t cross. The political system is rigged for corruption and minority rule. Some days the uphill battle is overwhelming. Other days I think we will beat these mother f’ers.
(🧵) 5 aspects of the digital age:
1. Everyone has an opinion on your life—as they can see part of it.
2. Everyone has a *platform* to express that opinion.
3. Everyone claims *cultural license* to express that opinion.
4. Everyone feels entitled to—virtually—state the opinion to you *directly*.
🧵1/6 There are few things in my life I have been prouder to do than wear the uniform of the United States Navy.
I didn't serve a president. I served a Constitution. I served an idea unlike any the world had ever seen...that ordinary people could govern themselves...
Trump’s California election fraud claims reportedly fall apart under scrutiny. But that’s almost beside the point. The real objective isn’t winning the argument, though. It’s teaching his numbskull supporters never to trust an outcome he doesn’t like.
"We want a world where criticism of us is punishable by immediate physical violence, cloaked in the prim-and-proper language of 'restoring honor' but only ever flowing one direction with the powerful, and we want to do whatever we want to our 'lessers' and expect them to know their fucking place"
There is a very good reason these people are all nostalgic for the Antebellum South and it's not because it was as genteel and polite as all the revisionists like to say! It was a brutal, tyrannical, evil, deeply psychosexually insane machine of misery that enacted total control over the population!
In 2025, MAGA fascism and tech fascism merged to create a flywheel of overt corruption that provides infinite money for these takeovers. The Trump regime pours money into venture capitalist projects while the VCs pour money into the Trump family. Massive criminal capture.
What's happening to CBS News is what the tech oligarchs call "parallel" strategy.
Buy an existing institution, gut it, and convert it into a right-wing zombie version of itself. They are doing this to media, government, education, biotech, defense tech, etc.
Some call it the "Network State."
Musk’s net worth has almost tripled. Trump’s has more than doubled.
Bezos, Zuck, Thiel & others are all exponentially growing their billions via federal contracts, tax breaks and rampant deregulation, while laying off thousands.
This is the real crime all their other crimes are meant to hide.
Fellow Democrats: we have to wake up and see reality.
The Trump regime doesn't play by the rules. They do things "because they can."
We knew they would gut voting rights.
Louisiana cancelling the election mid-way is a test for November.
We need to go on the offensive...
🧵
Every major Democrat has millions in their campaign account. The threat to democracy is big enough that we need to be funding mobilization and messaging right now - not just banking money for the next election.
If we don't build right now, there might not be another election.
scoop: Sen Chris Murphy is donating 100k from his political fund to Indivisible — the latest in a series of donations he says total ~1m to progressive organizing groups taking on the Trump admin
Murphy said fellow Dems should take notes to “meet the moment”

If you’re rich and not a coward, this is what you’d refer to as a “market opportunity” to dominate a media ecosystem that’s about to be covered in grotesque government slop. To be a pop of color in a sea of beige will be easier than ever. People will flock to it. You gotta be a little brave, though.
There’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people to build on the rubble of what’s being destroyed before our eyes. Private corporations bending over to forcefeed everyone government-approved speech is evil and amoral, but more than anything this creates boring, inauthentic, unwatchable shit.
Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.
From Twitter/X to FB to TikTok to Washington Post to CBS. Any opposition to this fascist project needs to focus, in part, on building and/or securing information infrastructure to ensure channels of dissent exist & remain available. The Dems have taken this infrastructure for granted. It’s gone.
We are witnessing a swift and sweeping consolidation of media (traditional and social) into the hands of a small number of billionaires who are actively aligned/aligning (both via free will and coercion) with Trump and his right wing political party. This is (I’ll say it) a fascist project.
Truth bomb‼️
This man should be the one speaking on college campuses…
“They’re planning for us to turn on each other and make this culture war a civil war. I am begging you, please, for the love of God, for the love of our neighbors… do not take the bait.”
Watch
I’m sorry for the long post but a lot of you have followed me for a long time, since 2016 when I was one of the first to repeatedly call out Trump for being a Russian asset.
I don’t know how else to say this, as a person who has studied cults (wrote a bestseller about it) and totalitarian states.

We won’t feel this shift immediately but in the long run it will cost us trillions and drastically undermine our global influence.
We voted for isolationism without realizing the consequences.
Here come the consequences.
(3/3)
China is making a power play to become the new global depot for military assets, infrastructure, tech, minerals…you name it.
They’re doing it in the open because Trump has alienated almost everyone.
(2/3)
We are witnessing a shift in the balance of power in real time.
The attendees for the military parade in China are a who’s who of our forever enemies and former allies spurned by Trump’s stupidity.
(1/3)
I’m old enough to remember when we had 47,000 congressional hearings over Hunter Biden allegedly making money off his father’s name.
Meanwhile, Trump’s corruption, in the billions, gets openly celebrated.
…is the day when things will truly start to change.
We need the Epstein list to seek justice for the survivors.
We need it for ourselves to believe things like truth, fairness and justice still exist.
America needs it for a class war long overdue.
(4/4)
They own Presidents, Judges, Congress…they’ve drowned out our voice, usurped the power of our vote with their super PACs, media platforms and propaganda machines.
The day we realize the only thing that will make America great again is to unite against these unscrupulous oligarchs…
(3/4)
The Epstein list is a who’s who of the rich & powerful.
The reason Trump and the DOJ are shielding them is because they are rich and powerful.
Every time we try to hold them accountable, the systems we believe were meant to deliver justice falter and betray us.

Most of the folks who voted for Trump don’t really understand morality or decency. They consume instead a french fried patriotism that has been sold to them for generations. Red state mediocrity passed off as exceptionalism. Badge and flag worship, ‘Rambo’ isms, empty platitudes.
The ICE agents and the $75B handed out by Republicans for enforcement, detention and deportation was never just about immigration. It should be clear now Trump was after his own Gestapo force to silence dissent in our beloved country.
Update: I offered the amendment. Not to refuse acceptance of the Qatari jet; just to prohibit Trump from taking it with him when he leaves office - after the taxpayers spend $1 billion to retrofit it.
Failed 14-15. Every single Republican voted to allow Trump to take the jet.
The fight against corruption has to be ceaseless.
Today in the Appropriations Committee, I will offer an amendment to prohibit the Qatari jet that was gifted to Trump (which is going to cost taxpayers $1 billion) from being transferred to him personally.
Stay tuned.
I’d say that @stephencolbert.bsky.social is (with the lone exception of @maddow.msnbc.com) the most brilliant, humane person I’ve encountered in broadcasting. His mind works faster than anyone else’s at a level of sophistication that is unmatchable. Genuinely a generational talent.
@gavinnewsom.bsky.social: "We're trying to play by one set of rules. And these folks on the other side play by a completely different set of rules. So much so that the president United States called Greg Abbott and told him, in essence, find 5 additional seats so he can rig the election next year."
@gavinnewsom.bsky.social: "This party needs to wake up. These guys aren't screwing around... They're assassins when it comes to the way they weaponize grievance and the way they play politics. Enough! What more goddamn evidence do we need? They have rolled back the last half century in real time!"
@gavinnewsom.bsky.social: "We can, in essence, likely neuter the total number of districts that Trump is looking to get with Abbott in rigging those [Texas] maps, here in the state of California. Hope other governors consider doing similar things. You've got to fight fire with fire."
If you refuse to see what is happening, the cancellation of the Colbert show should open your eyes.
I want to explain to you what a censorship state looks like - where a corrupt government gives favors to media that suppresses criticism of the regime.
Pin this, save it, we’ll need it.
“When a prison camp opens in your town…when a DREAMer is disappeared from your classroom…when the President destroys what’s left of the Constitution…They will all say they didn’t know this was coming. And I want the American people to know that they did.”
AOC 🔥🎯
This sentence, typed in her dissent, should scare the living fuck out of everyone in this country.
"This Supreme Court is an existential threat to the rule of law."
– Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson
(🧵) I’ve never—in 30 years in journalism—published a report like this: one that could genuinely bring hope. I spent the last 15 hours curating and labeling photos from hundreds of No Kings Day protests. It’s the largest archive of its kind and it has *lots* of Easter eggs (memes, an essay and more).
If Trump can claim a "national emergency" to disappear U.S. residents without due process, what’s to stop him from doing the same to U.S. citizens who oppose him?
Either everyone has due process — or no one does.
