To live outside of Twitter you must be honest. willbuckingham on LetterBoxd. That’s where I really also almost shine.

You can’t explain this to Rightwingers, of course, but the rightwing audience is not inexhaustible, and they have so much hardcore content now that they aren’t going to watch anyone not singing their tune with their whole chest. And liberals will tire quickly of your shit.

Is this sustainable? Because it totally seems sustainable.

More than a quarter of American adults have a daily gambling habit, 42 percent of bettors have said they spend more than they should, and a majority of men ages eighteen to forty-nine have an active account with an online sportsbook.

I wonder if Dems in like a coordinated fashion might hammer on the Trump DOJ dropping the Live Nation action while everyone is mad about ticket prices. Like while it’s in the news. Like after Trump just said he didn’t care. Like a coordinated message on a timely salient issue. Maybe?

People like to say you can’t get good pizza outside New York City. When the truth is you can’t get a decent bacon egg and cheese outside NYC. I don’t know how the economics work to get that much bacon on a single BEC, but it doesn’t math out anywhere else, apparently.

Imagine still hoping that this administration would replace anyone with someone better.

The biotech industry is cheering Marty Makary's departure from the FDA. calling his tenure  “nothing short of chaotic.” @gerryfsmith.bsky.social has the story > www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Luke: But is the dark side more powerful? Yoda: No, but it lets you be a smug piece of shit who never has to worry about other people, and boy is that really fucking popular. Frankly, some days I don’t know why I even bother with this light side bullshit.

It would be faster to count the grains of sand on the beach than the number of donkeys this guy blows.

Lawrence Hurley@lawrencehurley.bsky.social

NEW: Chief Justice John Roberts bemoans that Americans don't understand how the Supreme Court operates and see justices as "political actors". The court at times simply has to make "unpopular" decisions, he adds: www.nbcnews.com/politics/sup...

I Have wondered this very thing.

Nick Pinto@nickpinto.bsky.social

If you vote in NYC, you've probably wondered: "Who are these people running to be judges? Why doesn't it feel like I have much choice about voting for them? How were they selected? Why do many judges seem to be... bad?" May I present to you @hellgatenyc.com's latest big project: Courts of Contempt.

I don’t have a solution any more than anyone else does, but a famous limit on Freedom of Speech is yelling Fire! in a crowded theater, and we have a rightwing media echo chamber that yells “Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire!” all day, everyday, to their followers for money.

Who would’ve expected that the career grifter who has only read one book in his life (a German tome, I believe) would run a grift for his library.

The New Republic@newrepublic.com

This saga combines many of the worst elements of Trump's imperial presidency, all in one project: his use of lawsuits to extort private entities for tribute; his garishly awful decorative and architectural taste; and his Nero-scale megalomania. trib.al/PeNrhxi

You can not fully understand rightwing politics if you do not factor in spite. And that can be a tough thing for normal people, who do not live to see other people upset, to fully understand. Like your “rightwing tears” coffee cup just doesn’t cover it.

This post is unavailable.

I still remember Rightwingers whining For Years about Solendra during the Obama presidency. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if it popped up in a WSJ op-ed to justify this.

Julian Sanchez@normative.bsky.social

Just to be very clear: The Trump DOJ is stealing $1.2 million of your money to gift one of Trump’s cronies, who pled guilty to the crimes he was charged with, and whose suit against the government had already been tossed by a judge.

Modest Mouse, Good News for People Who Love Bad News is now 22 years old. This would’ve been as old as Dark Side of the Moon in like 1998. And I considered Dark Side ancient. But Pink Floyd was also still around. As is Modest Mouse. I don’t know where I’m going with this. Other than.. nah.

I guess you can explain the passing of time to someone, but there is literally no way to really understand it until you’ve experienced it. Can’t wait to hit 70 and see what that shit is like. I’ll go to the toilet and come back and it’ll be my birthday.

I have lost count of the times Jeffries has proven himself to be completely useless.

Andrew Solender@andrewsolender.bsky.social

After going over poll numbers with his caucus at a meeting this afternoon, Jeffries warned his members to maintain "decorum" and not make any "unforced errors" at the State of the Union tonight, per multiple sources

There are obviously a lot of dangers ahead, but I do believe the election of 2026 will go on pretty much as normal, and the Dems may be handed a great political opportunity. And I just wish I hadn’t spent the last three decades of my life watching them trip over their own dicks. But one can hope.

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

JUST IN: Democrats flip a red seat in the Texas Senate. Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards. With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43. Trump won this seat by 17% in Tarrant County.
