love how completely unelected people with extreme amounts of power over society are the psychopathic scum of the earth so that everyone feels like everything about the world is bad & getting worse, and society responds by voluntarily electing their best friends they vacationed on epstein island with

I never would've expected Americans to get so accustomed to fascist madness. Every day there are 5 new outrages that make me think I must be having a nightmare. Yet some people around me act as if it's just normal life. Frankly, a little more healthy panic would reassure me.

This is because he agrees with Trump on Omar because she is Muslim and rightfully criticizes the genocidal warmongers in Israel.

Chuck Schumer — one of the most powerful Democrats in the country — has not issued statements to the press or through his social media channels about the administration’s attack on Ilhan Omar, which critics have described as a five alarm fire for the state of democracy in the U.S.

Hey Ukraine as an American I say blow that shit up. If our problem was a lack of diesel we'd stop exporting 1.5m barrels/day of it. Trump's fake deal with an imperialist dictator will not impact our diesel prices and should have no impact on your survival strategy.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

President Trump blamed Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky for stoking his country’s conflict with Russia and said that he should be replaced. He added that he was unhappy about Ukraine’s decision to strike Russian refineries.

an ai system doesn't have a will, intention or feelings. nor the capacity to want or care. a neural network does not go rogue, escape, or rebel. just tech bros' narratives projected onto machines. and pls, don't mansplain my post to me

America is a stupid land with no memory where we debate taxing the wealthy like it's some kind of dangerous new political theory. And not just what we did for our entire national history until a demented bigot named Reagan plunged us into the hell of "voodoo economics".

Jason Concepcion@netw3rk.bsky.social

all the pieces like "why a wealth tax doesnt work" miss the point. sometimes you just want to throw your drink in someone's face.

We don't have a politics problem in America, or even an economics problem. We have a morality problem. This is a nation being swallowed whole by greed. The degenerates responsible will never surrender their stolen power. The social fabric has rotted to nothing. We the People are on our own.

i really can’t bring myself to care about AI anthropomorphism debates. “is AI thinking?” i don’t know. is a calculator calculating? questions for the philosophers. what’s important is that we put sam altman in prison.

I think saying “X is bad,” even basing your political identity on X being bad, but being unwilling to do or commit to doing anything structural to address X is pretty characteristic of liberal politics generally at this point

It’s genuinely difficult to articulate how evil destroying USAID was. And it’s weird bc some people are so committed to the US anti-imperial angle that they skip right over the “literally the worst excesses of capitalism, the world’s richest man just decided to turn off money to poor people” angle.

Just asking questions here, but how long do we let this go on unimpeded? How long do we play our unaffordable video games and buy our unaffordable groceries with wages that barely go up before we decide this system isnt democratic or representative?

Also, you know. Genocide. The American government is attempting genocide by targeting vital civilian infrastructure. It's all bad business for the empire, sure, but fuck the empire.

Can't get numb to this: The United States is stuck in a war it started, cannot end, and may further escalate to no avail, having dismantled its diplomatic apparatus, depleted its military stockpile, and destroyed its credibility. A historic strategic mistake harming millions in many different ways.

A trend that has been trending through every presidency of my lifetime. It’s notable that the lines crossed under Biden. This is the Neoliberal Era in one chart. It’s what happens when conservatives dominate our institutions with centrists as opposition. It’s what happens when spending is speech.

In America today, the wealthiest 1% is now worth more than the entire American middle class. That never happened before.

You are up to date.
