I'm having an absolute blast with Crystal Lake, the Friday the 13th prequel/reboot/reimagining starring the great Linda Cardellini. I wrote a whole lot about those slipshod but strangely enduring movies in my review of the season premiere

My most recent Crystal Lake review to get posted...well, it's pretty funny to think of where Pamela Voorhees started in the premiere and where she winds up in this one, that's for sure! Nice sweater, though. Looks familiar.

Santa Ana: I saw this movie in the theater when it was first released. It's a great documentary filled with startling insights. It is also a movie that is best viewed with an audience.

You know what we don't talk enough about? Queen & Annie Lennox/David Bowie rehearsing 'Under Pressure' in 1992. So much going on! Everyone's clothes, Bowie with a lit cig throughout, where Annie PROPER GOES FOR IT, George Michael singing along in the background. The amazing vocals. Yes, please!

This Day in Labor History: February 6, 1919. The Seattle General Strike began. Let's talk about this much mentioned but little understood event. Let's also talk about general strikes a bit, which are very misunderstood, even by activists, and why we don't have them today in their classic form.

I mean, if the idea is "it was headed in the right direction and then the guy in charge inexplicably pointed everything at a giant piece of ice in the North Atlantic, with calamitous results", then yes.
