All this video does is make me ask: How f***** deep was Danielle in with this crowd? This is the kind of thing you hear of loonies sitting in an underground bunker, drinking whiskey and planning nefarious deeds while making a blood pact that you'll never turn on each other. #Alberta

Scott Robertson@sarobertson.bsky.social

Jeffrey Rath: "Next time around, we'll have a leader that believes in independence in charge of the UCP. We'll see how it goes when there isn't a premier in office that's rigging the outcome of the referendum."

"The success of NIMBYs has come at an incredibly high price for younger and new Canadians, who have to contend with rising rents and ludicrously high home prices in our big (and increasingly, not-so-big) cities." @maxfawcett.bsky.social nails it here. Resistance to change foments a housing crisis.

Max Fawcett@maxfawcett.bsky.social

Conservatives are the biggest gatekeepers when it comes to housing supply and affordability in Canada, as I wrote three years ago. Danielle Smith and the UCP just proved my point, again. www.nationalobserver.com/2023/06/12/o...

An extremely timely and poignant article from Max. This might be one of his best pieces of journalism, and I think Albertans need to hear this - even if it's hard to digest for some. One of the best journalists in Canada today. You don't want to miss this one. #canada #alberta #yyc #yeg

Max Fawcett@maxfawcett.bsky.social

Alberta’s grievances with Ottawa are mostly manufactured, always exaggerated and, often, completely illusory. Now it's time for the people who spent the last decade amplifying and weaponizing them to put out the fire they helped create. #cdnpoli #abpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2026/05/26/o...

The cool folks from the Eurosky team just brought you a new site: eurosky.tech, portal to the Atmosphere. I'd say it's the crispest explanation so far of what the Atmosphere brings: 1. one account 2. that works with a bunch of apps, and 3. your data from all apps is yours, portable, interoperable.

If you use websites/apps/Big Tech gadgets, you are only seeing the cute 'user' side of the experience. There is a deep structure behind it that manages your experience, data, and privacy. And you don't control it. Get to know 'the other side' of your tech. Make decisions accordingly. #BigTech

She keeps getting chances to show some loyalty to Canada -- and keeps turning them away in order to defend Alberta separatists and their cause. It's who she is. It's time we all started saying it. #cdnpoli #abpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2026/02/02/o...

nationalobserver.comYes, Danielle Smith is a separatistAlberta's premier says she supports "a sovereign Alberta within a united Canada." Her actions tell a much different story — one that makes her position on the issue impossible to ignore.

If you're a politician in Canada and still using X, you haven't been paying attention - or you care more about monetization than morals. @maxfawcett.bsky.social lays it out with crayons why you shouldn't be there. No matter which party you rep. #Canada www.nationalobserver.com/2026/01/12/o...

This Canadian November has shown me that provinces or the feds should offer tax credits for purchasing winter tires. How this isn't mandatory in most of the country is beyond me. #Canada #Ontario #Toronto

Nevermind the men behind the curtain! @canadaland.com @noorazrieh.bsky.social I think your guest Sam Konnert's hunch today was like the nose of a Bloodhound lol

Turns out they were *hiding behind the curtains* like a couple of rangy toddlers inside the clearance rack at Kresgie's while their mom shops for off-season bargains — ready to leap into their seats in case the vote went election-ish. Y'know, the way alpha bro dudely macho men hide behind curtains.

@bsky.app can you please have the professional acumen when running a business & a platform to not resort to childish trolling? The other platform and its gaslighting owner already has that in spades. Tech CEOs in 2025 melting down like toddlers with broken crayons is certainly a thing to watch.

It's fun to watch places like Calgary and Edmonton grow, but Toronto continues to lead all growth in not just Canadian cities, but even the U.S. This city is fast becoming one of the world's most important metro areas, especially in the face of geopolitical change.

Japan, Korea, and China are going to be integral to the EV market in this new geopolitically-shifting world. I hope Canada sees the same potential in letting these vehicles be sold to and built here as well.

This is what an authoritarian surveillance state looks like. All the more reason for anyone thinking of visiting the U.S. right now to stay away. It's a slippery slope between this and anything they don't like, including DEI, progressive values, and anything critical of the Trump administration.

This is great for us in Toronto and Canada, but incredibly concerning that this level of talent and expertise is leaving the US due to the "deteriorating political situation". This is history repeating itself ...

Netflix increased their prices for Canadian subscribers. For the standard plan, with tax, that now eclipses $20 per month. That's my personal threshold for any streaming service to begin auditing if it's worth it or not. I'm looking at you too, Crave and Disney Plus.

Mr. Rogers famously once said "look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." If you're thinking about ditching #bigtech, the helpers can be: - open-source; - users over profits; - advocate ethics; - decentralized. Building community starts with a shift in thinking.

This is a wild read - I didn't realize playlists were such big business, "ghost artists" are thing, and streaming fraud is a hustle. Here I am like an ostrich with my head in the sand listening to tunes while big drama unfolds all around my music platform of choice. #themoreyouknow #spotify

Big tip for #PowerAutomate dev stuff - if you aren't seeing things like dynamic values, environment variables, or are missing metadata from your actions, just turn off/turn on the Flow. Doing this refreshes metadata, resets connections, clears backend caches, rebinds EVs, and re-evaluates triggers.

As more people come to Bluesky, remember that you can still change the narrative beyond elections. Make a difference by changing where you spend your time and money. I'd go even go a step further and be very judicial about whom you buy your products from and where they originate from. Start with X.

msnbc.comOpinion | Elon Musk’s X is a poison. We don’t need to keep taking it.It's not enough for some journalists and influencers to boycott the social media site formerly known as Twitter. Everyone needs to bail on it at once.
