Spent the weekend volunteering at my niece’s dance recital selling snacks during the shows and intermissions, and being on my feet for a combined 10+ hours on Friday and Saturday has left me pretty damn tired. Now that I’m home after my 1.5 hour drive, I’m ready to relax!

The worst part of running in the summer is taking a shower and STILL being hot and sweaty after the shower. Welcome to my morning!

It’s funny that I love Survivor and the Traitors so much because I’d be so bad at both games. I’m known for being brutally honest so I’d be voted out / murdered in both games in a heartbeat.

10 bands I've seen live: Foo Fighters Red Hot Chili Peppers Radiohead The Strokes Guided by Voices Black Rebel Motorcycle Club The Decemberists Smashing Pumpkins The New Pornographers They Might Be Giants

Sites that make any sort of noise, no. Please no. I'm easily startled and will close the page right away if your site makes any bit of sound. I didn't find it cute in the 90s when everyone had midis autoplaying on their sites and I don't find it cute now.

Got my run done this morning and I’m happy with the progress I’m making. Next up, time to enjoy some tasty coffee! ☕️

I'm dealing with the age-old problem of wanting to blog but not knowing what to blog about. Why can’t I just think of ideas?

It wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t awake at 6am on a Saturday morning. My body clearly doesn’t know how to sleep in anymore. That’s ok, more time for coffee!

Traveled to Chicago this past week and one of my favorite parts was swinging by Atlas Stationers and buying myself a hot pink Esterbrook Funky Town pen. Love! #fountainpen

Who woke up at 3:30am yesterday, spent 12 hours in the Baltimore airport wondering if her connecting flight to New England would get canceled while a blizzard hits the area, and finally got home at 11pm? That's right, I did. And I'm so glad I got home and not stuck for a couple days while we get pu

It's so fucking wild to me that companies REALLY want you to use AI, that they're really invested in you using it for who knows what reasons. Why the hell does it matter how you write your code? The one positive about not having a full time job is not being forced to use AI. So, so glad about that.

Ordered some dry rub wings and ‘dry’ is the key word. Ordered some wet wings from the server to rectify this tragedy.

A great way to tell that you need a break from Discord? Closing the app but then clicking the app in your dock reflexively without even knowing you're doing it. For now, Discord has been removed from my dock. I’ll check it way less often now and open it only when I want to catch up on what's goin

We are in the worst timeline. Why the fuck did people here vote this man back in office? It is an embarrassment and awful for everyone in the world. So fucking awful.

Last day of using two planners before fully switching to my 2026 Hobonichi Weeks tomorrow. Nothing feels better than finishing one planner and starting a fresh new one. #hobonichi

A plant I bought a little over 6 years ago to celebrate getting the job I was laid off from in March is on its last legs and I’m so sad. I suppose it’s fitting, but it’s sad just the same.

Today I turned 45 and spent the day with my sister’s in-laws. I got cake and it was delightful. Oh yeah, and it was that other holiday too, but I like remembering my birthday first and foremost.

Spent this Christmas Eve / the day before my birthday getting my nails painted a glittery red, then treating myself to a sushi lunch. Now I’m home watching the snow fall and I’m feeling nice and cozy.

How I can tell it's been a rough year: I haven't been posting either here or on my blog, and I haven't wanted to listen to music in months. I want to change these now so here I am, posting! May 2026 be way, way better.

Today I ran a 5k without stopping to walk for the first time in years and while I’m not fast by any stretch of the imagination, I’m still proud of myself. Those hills were no joke!

Also, this is a time where I wish I could edit posts in Bluesky as the url to the slides starts at slide #7. Just pretend it starts at slide #1!

a web that isn't human-first is a web I want nothing to do with. I'm not going to "optimize the graph" of assertions, or whatever. I'm not a content farm for your algorithm. i'm here to build real relationships with real people - and if that's not what the web is for anymore, I'll be somewhere else.
