I’m looking to connect with university lecturers and staff. We offer student tickets for @ffconf.org, but they’re easy to miss, and I’d love to give the next generation of web developers the chance to attend a great indie event. If anyone can contact please drop me comment here I can follow up.

I'm not sure if it's because I have a lot of CSS custom properties (not that many in the grand scheme of things) but I'm finding in Firefox Dev Tools changing the values of custom properties doesn't seem to do anything any more. Anyone else?

So a little bird told me that Pixel Pioneers on 19 June only has a few tickets left, so snap them up! I'm gutted I can't make it this year. You can get 15% off with the code PIXEL15 - if you've been on the fence this is your sign to buy your ticket!

Yesterday was my last day at Deno. From today, I'll be cheering the talented team on from outside the org. This also means that I'm now considering my next move in the DX/DevRel/Technical marketing space.

Today is my last day with the Deno team 🦕💖💔 I know they're gonna keep making awesome things. But now *I* need to make awesome things for someone else! If you're looking for a DevRel with a JS focus and extra sparkle, get in touch!

The least realistic thing about Heated Rivalry is that they fully punctuate their texts to each other. Sorry but there's no way Ilya Rozanov uses full stops

Early bird In-person (£70) and Online (£15) tickets are on sale until 18 November (midnight UK time) or until sold out. Next ticket sale opens on 17 December and prices will go up for both In-person (£80) and Online (£20). #BuyEarly and secure your spot! #SotB26 2026.stateofthebrowser.com/tickets/

The first talk of the day at #ffconf highlighted the still-abysmal gender and ethnicity disparity in the tech industry. As long as data is compiled and processed by a non-diverse group, we can't train models and build products that could ever be anything but biased.

There's still things that catch me by surprise now, even though they probably shouldn't. A cool new retro coding magazine where the entire contributor list is bearded white dudes. More men named Chris than women in an engineering team. An entirely white speaker panel.

I can't recommend this conf enough and I'm sad it's the last one! Don't miss out!

🚨 Announcing All Day Hey! 2026. Celebrating ten years of the conference. The final one. Let's go! A curated conference for curious developers, designers, and technology leaders.

"It's very clear that a lot of the new AI era is about dismantling the web's original design... a new Internet where there's no concept of consent for either users or those who create content and culture — everything is just raw materials, and all of us are fair game."

Imagine a browser where you type in “Taylor Swift” and it doesn’t even admit that her website exists. I write about Atlas, ChatGPT’s new anti-web browser that should come with a warning label. www.anildash.com/2025/10/22/a...

My dog jingles a string of bells to be let outside but she's started doing it while we're eating breakfast in the hopes we'll leave our food unattended to go and open the back door
