the reason “AI will create so much abundance we will have a utopian society” rhetoric falls so flat is that the people building it will never, ever share their bounty unless it is taken from them and we all know it

Part of why I don't like the AI-or-bust economy is the constant flopsweat of people on the news who say this HAS to work. Quit making everyone so anxious. Goddamn. If this is the next Google then why are you acting like this? I don't remember being told to buy an iPhone at gunpoint.

Was in the mood for finishing some projects. Had to cut a 4mm slice out of the No5 coach to get it past some encroaching scenery. Finished painting my two vans, one in the old paler livery and the second in the cheaper new livery. #OOn3 #OO12 #ModelTrains #ModelRailroading

So what the hell was going on with Percy's smokebox saddle anyway?? Why is it a different design on both the die-cast and motorised toys? Why does the weird promo art have the slab underneath painted black but only sometimes?

Cracking into these vans to keep my painting going. Still a lot more left to do, but at least the basecoats are down now. #OOn3 #OO12 #ModelTrains #ModelRailroading

The fact people use the phrase "you can't put the genie back in the bottle for AI pissss me off because A: Genies offer some kind of benefit B: Most Genie stories end with it back in the bottle And C: ones that dont usually involve the Genie being a slimy trickster that fools and hurts the user.

As much as I'm generally not pro-Praising The Corporation, I'll give them this one since it's much better than the alternative (using more die-cast metal and passing the cost onto the consumer, locking less well-off families out of being able to collect the range)

Long before they came to Sodor, Rosie and Bruno, were two peas in a pod. She'd always remind the other engines "Don't you leave behind, Bruno!" to which, he'd always appreciate. They'd often be called "The Red Rascals" with how cheeky they'd be to the other engines, as well! #TTTE

* ( TTTE ) * edward, battered, weary but unbeaten and puffing into the big station: "oh dear, i do hope we're not too far behind on time and that the fat controller isn't too cross with the delay" * the ever punctual and firm fat controller:

I got A Bumpy Ride on day one, and I adore it. It's got a very nice art style, and overall it's a nice cozy game to sit down and relax with. Comet's an adorable little engine too.

Nia enjoyed her life on the fat controllers railway. Some things were very new to her but many things were the same no matter where you were, trucks were one of them. "If you stop bumping I'll tell you stories from home" she told them & the curious trucks relucantly behaved.

"Thomas' Branch Line is important, and so is Edward's. They both bring in valuable traffic, but their track and bridges are not as strong as those on the Main."

needed this bad boy for tidmouth chrstmas and some bonus filming [hence both tomy/twr compatable, need to make new station signage] but ill be damned i cooked.

Something interesting I haven't seen many people bring up about the new die-cast Toad is that the bluish-grey colour they've changed him to is seemingly based directly on the GWR's standard goods stock livery, rather than the BR-ish grey colour the TVS went with

You know I gotta give the people behind the 2026 series credit, their redesign for Bulgy is a great way of updating his "telling whoppers until no-one believes his destination boards" schtick for a contemporary audience

Here are the facts The new box art does not match the photo bashing of the Pixar Cars line (which I believe is already outsourced to begin with) There is a consistent filter applied to all the new Thomas product. But discrepancies seem to come from what base render is applied
