We are a dictatorship masquerading as a banana republic. There is no effective law, unless it hurts the non-wealthy, nor justice. Those who still support trump and his corrupt administration are irredeemable. Retired attorney and cat (and dog) lover.

I created this photo using recent research so it relaxes your brain when you pause to look at the details. As I'm sometimes too unwell to post here (not good mental health due to PMDD & recovering from a breakdownA) it would help so much if you could maybe RT my photo. Many thanks 🌿

JUST POSTED: A Russian energy giant has secretly moved to acquire a position in a massive Alaska gas project. Its part of talks between Witkoff/Kushner & Putin. But CEO of US company resigns after learning of Russian money in the project. A wowzer of a story. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/23/u...

nytimes.comIn U.S. Gas Talks With Kremlin, Hidden Financing for Alaska Project EmergesInterviews and documents show a Russian energy giant secretly funded a U.S. firm. The deal has been discussed in talks to end the war in Ukraine.

I voted by mail last Monday. Today, I confirmed at my county's Board of Elections website that my ballot had been received and accepted for counting. Yeah.

So now we have descended into the realm of public executions? It is almost intolerably sad to see one's country this contemptible. Not that there have been many prior contemptible acts by this so-called administration.

My take from the Smith hearings: To be a GOP senator today, you have to be a lying piece-of-shit, who puts loyalty to party & our lying piece-of-shit president, above their oaths to the Constitution & their obligations to tell the truth & do what rights to the American people! Repost if U agree

Saga of what not to do with one's dishwasher. My dishwasher stopped working (or at least I thought so). I'm planning a kitchen remodel, so I hand-washed dishes. The drying portion of the dishwasher still worked, and yesterday, as I was moving to the drying portion, wash cycle began. 1/2

Stopped that added dishwasher cleaner, and voila, full cycle. Tonight, I found I had no dishwasher cleaner left, added a small amount of hand dish soap. Left kitchen, and when I came back flood of bubbles on kitchen floor. Cleaned up, floor looks good. DO NOT ADD HAND DW SOAP TO MACHINE. See 3

Why is it that no matter what level of malware, security, or clean-up software you have purchased, you get almost daily requirements that you have a problem, but the solution is to buy another program to accomplish what you thought you had already purchased for protection?

It makes me really sad to say this, but . . . Americans and our politicians seem to have become so mealy mouthed and useless that an unendingly stupid, ugly, foul-smelling, tasteless, and let's not forget corrupt piece of garbage is both literally and figuratively destroying our country.

Been there; done that. Now, I only by one or occasionally two, very green bananas. I eat it/them before they ever get more than slightly yellow. Otherwise, just disgusting.

I have a 2010 or 11 Asus 17 inch/ win7 gaming laptop. It has 8 gb of memory, 2 gb primary hard drive, 2 (2 g ) secondary drives, and an Invidia video card with 2 g of memory. Is this worth updating to Linux OS or just send it to a computer junk service?

I stopped using this laptop after a Steam game installation of CIv V just shredded its performance. Removing Steam and Civ V did not fix the slow. I have not since played any game only available on Steam.

Why does every entity from whom I make some random purchase think I need an email from them every day? It makes me magnitudes less likely to purchase from them again.

I just turned on PBS on my local station and they are showing a concert with Joe Bonamassa. OMG so great. How come I've never heard of him before? I guess I've really been in the hermit status for even longer than I thought.

Welcome to the slow death of the US. Measure us against any first world (or even second world whatever either of those means) and we are becoming a failure.

I just had a weird but good thing happen. This morning when I got up, there was a bird at the window in my upstairs landing. I just went upstairs, and the bird was trapped between the window and the screen. No idea how he got between them. I ripped the screen, and he was able to fly away.

I really cannot fathom how the bird got between the window and the screen -- before I ripped it to release him there was not even a tiny tear in the screen and the screen was securely in place with no indication of how the bird got inside.

Grr. There are local jerks already doing loud noisy fireworks. And my elderly, wonderful cat is freaked, like he is with thunder. I am always trying not to dislike (at best) many ********** people.

My area is under a tornado watch (nearby areas under warning) so I can't go upstairs to bed. And the only downstairs area that doesn't have windows is the laundry room that has the cat litter box, in which I can just stand up. It's probably ok, but I'm going to stay up until the warning is over.

I am so disappointed in the news reporting about the "agreement" with Iran where so many are characterizing it as either a good thing or at least back to the pre-trumpwar situation. Even if the latter were true, it is not back to status quo. We have spent/wasted trillions on this stupid war.

Sad. Maybe I'm just so out of it . . . But does Colbert think the garbage of this evening's program part of a fitting goodbye for his final week on CBS? If I saw this previously, I would never have watched his show.

I have always known there were at least some evil people in every country of the world. But I had not expected to see quite so many flaunting their evil openly here in the US.

GOP Election Advertisements There are constant ads for Vivek here in the Cleveland area. He is in one frame of the ad; every other person is white. GOP can't help telling us what they are about.

I am devastated. Yesterday I had my just-15-year old female cat, Clio, put to sleep. She was the loveliest, tiniest tuxedo who never did a mean thing. Sadly, it was the right thing to do, as she had kidney problems that only briefly responded to treatment. I held her, purring, until the end.

In the saga of cats . . . My male cat, Thor, thin, ~25" from tip of nose to end of back plus ~16" of tail, jumped into a bath tub full of cool water this morning. He immediately jumped out and raced around the house shedding water everywhere. I finally caught him and got him dried off. Love him.

I am likely a pedant and a curmudgeon, but even people in the public eye and professional people - seem unable to articulate more than a few words without interspersing "like" -- often every few words. Not to mention "right?" and other idiocies. (Forgiving "umm" as we all do that occasionally.)

One in eight Americans receive (or are eligible for) SNAP benefits? What kind of third world sh**hole country are we? Given the wealth, probably the first of the worst.

Maybe this is obvious to everyone but…why does the White House need a ballroom? It has enough space for state dinners, no? Is this for dances? Weddings? Storing classified documents? Just confused so the reason would be helpful thx
