Trump: Nuh uh, and also you're the cheesecake factory

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump is BIG MAD about Obama saying the White House now looks like Saddam opened a Cheesecake Factory: "He's not a smart guy. He's not smart at all ... for you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president"

the endless slaughter of elves and orcs must stop

Kate from Kharkiv@kateinkharkiv.bsky.social

The "poor Russian conscripts" are actually, in the overwhelming majority, not conscripts at all, but people who go to war to murder Ukrainians for money. "They have no choice" - what bullshit. Going to jail instead of bombing a playground full of children is a choice. Emigration is a choice.

WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STAND WITH YOU ✨🇩🇰✨🇺🇸✨🇬🇱✨

if Alaska gets Democrats from 50 to 51, I can see why Trump wants to mess with and delay certification; but if it's 52 or even 53 will it be worth the effort and blowback

Spotlight fossil fuel’s dark money corruption and climate denial fraud operations — don’t tell the Little Red Riding Hood story without the wolf. Put the villains in every conversation. Their free-to-pollute subsidy is $700 billion, so they will fight. We must fight too.

while it is true that the founding fathers wait at the pearly gates to judge new USian souls, they don't do it all together but take shifts. so you're just as likely to get Jacob Broom as Thomas Jefferson

"we gotta do campaign finance reform to get these fuckin politician assholes off my TV" would appeal to a lot of people I suspect

my most specific BioWare opinion is that Veilguard would have done better if they had stuck with a palette that prominently featured blood red, instead of purple

EA's closure of BioWare is transparently a vile move to shutter the studio that made by far their queerest titles. In the wake of this, I implore you: MAKE MORE QUEER ART. Make it trans. Make it horny. Make it scary. Make it loving. Make it with every inch of yourself. Flood the world with it!

BioWare gets its premier game sabotaged by weird c-suite expectations, then gets destroyed by its holding corporation. gamergate assholes: see, go woke, go broke

when was the last time EA made a game that wasn't utter shite anyhow. I guess buying and closing the last few decent studios in the AAA world is their only strategy going forward

Ben Abrahamse reposted

it cannot actually be ignored or danced around that the closure of BioWare came so soon after the Saudi and Jared Kushner acquisition of EA. they absolutely did take the studio making EA’s broadly queerest games out back and shoot it old yeller style. do not let yourself or colleagues ignore that

For me the saddest thing about Bioware dying is it means we'll never get the 1 thing I wanted, which was simply a Dragon Age Origins that can run for more than 5 minutes on Windows 11 without crashing to desktop

If each sentence wasn't produced by the author, it is not academic writing. Academic writing is the expression of one's own ideas and one's own research in support of said ideas. It is intended and purposed to survive peer review. AI is plagiarism or theft of ideas, or both.

I realize Christianity is diverse and "no true scotsman" fallacies abound but I think if you believe Jesus said "empathy is bad actually" you really aren't part of it anymore

GOP doesn't get the idea that if you can't win a race you can at least lose with a little grace so that when it's over people don't say well good fucking riddance to that guy

Keep your fucking blood money I don't want it for my kid

Elon Musk pledged to award a share of SpaceX to every American child, part of what he has vowed as an effort to unleash “universal high income” through AI. “This will be the first of many,” Musk said on X.

ICE OUT OF LONG BEACH

Long Beach Watchdog@lbwatchdog.com

On Saturday, US citizen Ricardo Gonzalez was reportedly hit by an unmarked federal vehicle, tased twice by ICE agents and then handcuffed while face down in the gutter screaming that his arm was broken. Read more from @brandonrichardson.bsky.social on the Watchdog. lbwatchdog.com/ice-assaulte...

Mike Johnson offers a conspiracy theory to explain away his party's dire polling: "I believe there's a concerted effort between Democrats and the mainstream media that's openly biased in their favor to discourage the Republican side"

the correct analogy is "less training than someone who works in technical support"

Tressie McMillan Cottom@tressiemcphd.bsky.social

somehow a cross-section of politicians have seized on this line about ICE having less training than a “barber or cosmetologist”. May I suggest not using that line.

I'd settle for a reporter asking the president to name five states

Kevin M. Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social

Will any reporter ask the President of the United States to name the five specific states where he alleges that public school teachers are deciding -- all on their own initiative, over the objections of the parents -- to force their children into gender-affirming surgeries? Seems like a big story?

nothing. I'm just traveling everywhere in the world
