Since I'm just shit skeeting today, here's a thought: Is Star Wars a prequel to Dune? Like, I've seen people joke about the opposite, but I think it might work better my way. Plus, it seems like a viable resolution to the Droid problem SW will never fully address

I don’t think I’m a good roll player yet in DnD, but I’m working on it. But, oh man, do I want to be able to tell a fluid story with such emotional flexing like BLM on Critical Roll.

using herzog as an example here not as an end all be all but because he’s a wildly famous and respected director. i still have to see you can see everything, but the idea that a documentary should just be a recording of facts is diametrically opposed to the goal of making interesting art

LRP need more people to engage with herzog’s work instead of just imitating him for tiktoks man. the context for the “happy new year, losers!!” meme is him advocating for the role of documentarian as architect because it’s impossible to observe and interact with something without altering it

this is the most infuriating thing for me. There has always been enough there to investigate.

It's like everyone decided "If the president was plausibly accused of child sex trafficking, it would be the biggest scandal of all time" and went from there to "It's not the biggest scandal of all time, so I guess he's not plausibly accused of child sex trafficking." But he is.

Everyone should read these threads I did about industry lobbyists and the EPA and understand them. Take the time to see the unambiguous evidence of what's happening now at this moment inside the EPA. Please retweet them. Please read them. Each one of the threads. It's happening in slow motion.

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

Does anyone have any substantial on who is funding the folks trying to repeal legal marijuana in New England? I know Maine Public reported that the group doesn't have ties to the Alcohol or tobacco industries, but I'm struggling to think of who out there willing to spend that much money on it

I’m shocked Trump would say something so racist after 50+ years of very public racism

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on El-Sayed: "His name is actually Abduladadalalalala. It's Adulbabababababa Mohammed Al-Sayed. So his middle name is Mohammed. So I was right. He's a jihadist."

I think the most striking thing about the Troy Jackson/ Susan Collins debates is how utterly impossible it is for Collins to provide any sort of defense on her "I only vote against Trump when it's safe to do so" votes. Her team had to know it was coming and the best they can do is "nu uh"?

I think what really gets me is when the topic goes to Trump taking over democracy, the NYT pushes back on the notion that their standard reporting would uncover that if it were true. What exactly does that look like? An informant stating as such? A written statement? It's all already there!

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.

I'm not a journalist and I'm sure that shows. But I don't see how you can call yourself fair and honest when these people aren't acting in good faith. When it's blatant, it's your job to say it is. And that's what is being asked for.

The fucking vice president basically calling a dude a pedo for saying something nice about trans kids three years ago is so 2026. The vice president. This sucks.

I want to yell at the heavens that it's embarassing that anyone this deluded is going to get votes to be a govenor of a state, but then I remembered Tommy Tuberville exists and I'm left feeling we're lucky in Maine 🤢 #mepolitics

WATCH: Paul LePage calls for regime change in Iran. So, Paul, how many troops? How many years? How many more winters of $7/gallon heating oil? I’ll never send Maine’s tax dollars to a regime change war. It should be Maine families first.

Probably not unexpected, but utterly disappointing.

Starting to worry that Supreme Court granting Trump the right to commit brazen crimes against US with no accountability was a bad idea. No possible way anyone could have foreseen this at the time. <sarcasm emoji>

I'm a doomer this morning. Seeing Trump ignore even more court orders, I need reassurances on how the Trump will be held accountable if the Blue Wave happens. Like, I know he's not going to be removed from offices. But what levers actually can be pulled that he won't just ignore or wait out?
