This App Turns Your Photos into Music If You Want to Do That For Some Reason

It's been a rough couple weeks. Foot is acting up so I took a week off running. I'm in a VERY bad fibro flare, which, of course, only feels better if I run. Have, in no particular order: a picture of the 32 oz steak my husband and I shared for our 23rd, my new hair color, and my kid's newest tail.

In the same way that the invention of photography incentived the development of abstract art, the silver lining to this immense dark cloud is that a type of "dirty" art will be incentivized. One that revels in ugliness and the vulnerability of human error. The end of auto-tune.

I'm extremely susceptible to bribes. Even if I'm bribing myself. Sooooooo...I just ordered a box of these assholes. They'll live with my husband until I 'earn' them (work on a project I'm having trouble starting). Hopefully it won't be a repeat of the gachapon 'oops, all Endeavors' fiasco.

Pigeon and Goose. This is around two weeks after the two were introduced. They never so much as hissed at each other, and were snuggling nearby after a couple days. And now... They are just the Bestest Boys. I'm so glad my niece adopted Goose!

If Dolly was our constant reminder that it was Good to be Good, Tim Curry was our reminder that it was Good to be Weird. Embrace your strangeness, sing with Muppets, wear your lingerie with a leather jacket, and fuck with uptight people who hate anything that makes them remotely uncomfortable.

RIP to a motherfucking icon.

I've been more or less keeping up with my running while helping my mom out, other than the entire week where it was either raining or 100+ degrees. This was my first run long enough to get to a good coffee shop. Half sweet almond milk cafe miel.

I'm staying with my mom for a few weeks while she recovers from a broken hip. She's getting aroun surprisingly well, but mostly just goes to the bathroom or her office. My main job is cooking. Last night was garlic shrimp fried rice.

Sure, sex is great, but have you ever gotten an in-depth AO3 comment breaking down everything a reader loved about your story?

I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

Yes, it's the zeroth rule of writing advice: if advice works for you, then it's good advice for you, but if advice doesn't work for you, then it's bad advice for you. Sounds like a tautology, but people will fight you to the death on Reddit if you reject one of their unbreakable rules.

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social

i don't believe anyone has "good-faith" concerns about trans women in sports in 2026. there's been too much time to hear the actual evidence, the actual people affected, and the role the debate plays in attempts to purge trans people from American life. anybody picking that side has made a choice

My mom just fell and broke her hip. She's got a good prognosis; even though she's in her mid 70s she is expected to make a full recovery. I'm relieved at that, since I know it's not guaranteed. But I'm also not okay. That's MY MOM. She really is one of my best friends. And I'm half a continent away.
