rogerebert.comBook Excerpt: STEVE JOBS MONOGRAPH, Edited by B.C. WallinAn excerpt from a new essay collection about the Danny Boyle film.

Today is both the 11th anniversary of Steve Jobs (2015)'s limited release and the official release date for Aaron Sorkin's The Social Reckoning. A perfect day to revisit Kat Trout-Baron's essay on Aaron Sorkin, the writer-auteur, in STEVE JOBS MONOGRAPH, excerpted here at @ebertvoices.bsky.social:

Congratulations to the winners who took home copies of STEVE JOBS MONOGRAPH at New York Film Festival’s trivia night

15 years without him today

My buddy @nathanaelhood.bsky.social and I have been doing virtual movie nights for a couple years now (one person picks the short; the other, the feature). How are our highs and lows looking?

I love being edited, being challenged, being asked to think more about why I wrote something. I recognise it's harder and harder to land pitches let alone with editors who have the time to do that work anymore but I also think a lot of substackers could stand to be professionally edited

But there are still a handful of films from that era I adore, most of all SPEED RACER and DEAD MAN’S CHEST. And I’ll always be infinitely grateful for that onslaught of the new.
