I was only able to get into the Forever Beta in the last 20 hours of it, but decided to take as many screenshots and do as many things as I could. This is a bit of a thread so feel free to mute. The atmosphere is great and I genuinely hope they add this sort of feel to Retail.

But WoWF did make me realize how much I did not appreciate the Hunter Pet training system back in the day. When that system was removed, I remember being kinda happy about it. But playing with it again, I found myself really addicted to going out in the world and learning all the pet ability ranks.

Turns out I greatly missed when Hunter pets felt more like an extension of the class/spec (esp BM) and less like an "accessory" to the class/spec. Like it would be nice to do something in the spirit of those ideas, but on Retail. Maybe pet-specific gear or something, IDK.

So some thoughts: Getting it out of the way- Does this replace Retail for me? No. Will I play it as a side-game for when Retail is in that awkward "boring" part of the season? Absolutely. What this did though, was make me enjoy playing Retail even more though.

That isn't to say WoWF is bad. Not at all, complete opposite. But as a Retail main, it definitely helps scratch the itch of when I feel like "Man I wanna play WoW, but I do not want to pug a M+ or do (yet-another-invasion feature)." It's definitely a good thing!

Speaking of zombies... yes. My pet, Indy, did get infected and became a zombie. Yes, a friendly zombie. Yes, the Argent Crusade healers blew him up EVERY TIME I entered the city. Yes, he still came back as a zombie. For the last hour my pet was permanently a zombie ๐Ÿ˜…

I know there's "gimmicks" to making the game look this way, and they don't work with flying. But seriously, you guys made this stuff work great in Emerald Dream zone in DF and that had flying. Just saying, I hope they continue to lean into it.

The Beta Finale was pretty funny though. Tier pieces were dropping off level 2-13 mobs in the starting zones, Azuregos and Kazzak were making the rounds in zones. There was also a Super Hogger running around with legendaries. Infernals were spawning everywhere & a zombie plague was going around.

this is beyond fucked whether you follow any SW's or not, the fact that you are even on this platform is thanks in a large part to the SW community driving traffic in the early days. SW and trans people helped Bluesky win the clone war, and the leadership has done nothing but fuck them over since.
