We like things, like beer, for its own sake. It’s pretty and tasty and fun. But we care about beer—anything, really—because of its story. In fact, our brains are hardwired to understand the world through story. Let’s delve a little deeper to see why.

Nothing artistic, but presently stopping into #Well80Brewing located in #Olympia, #Washington. It’s been a minute, so we elected to try their flagship Original Dark ‘66 and their latest Oktoberfest. What’s your favorites?

Also, anyone along I-5 will tell you, the amount of opportunities to rake leaves is less than the amount of rainy days in October, November, and December.

Over last week, a bartender had a thought. If all you do is bring food from the kitchen, why are you entitled to a tip? So, not attempting to make a hot take, I ask this: If you're a beer-tender, and all you do is pour the beer, why do you deserve a tip? Not saying you don't, BTW. #beer #question

Aaaaaaand there goes Guinness in Baltimore. Hopefully, they treat the workers well on the way out Looking forward to getting the Diageo spin on this one.

The diversity in this recipe is awesome! Thanks for letting us know!

Project Maisel, in which final-year apprentice brewers at Maisel make their own creation, resulted in a "European Style IPA" this year: Europia. Only European hop varieties (6 of them). It's lovely. A unique IPA, "greener", more herbal, with mint and still some citrus, and nicely full bodied!

Love the analysis. Was thinking cold-side, until you mentioned that in the breakdown. As one us, in the past, has judged FH beers, blind, Myrcene is something that is sought out. A worth-while read.

The fresh hop beers are out! But wait, is that “green” character diminishing? I try to get to the bottom of things.

I can vouch for the Rauch!!! A rare dark lager & superb example of the Bamberg style; oak, toasted malt, tart fruit, bitter chocolate & herbal hops. Cheers!

Anspach & Hobday gearing up for their OktoberFest 26 October with 3 special Lagers inc a Rauchbier inspired by Bamberg. I've also cracked into a very fruity IPA. Happy Saturday!

Normally I’d be at the @rosscider.bsky.social festival this weekend. For various reasons I couldn’t go, which makes me a little sad to miss out. So bringing a bit of Ross atmosphere to Schefflenz, delving into my precious top shelf. The only Foxwhelp I’ve really liked 😁

Just sat through a press conference for a 40-year-old brewery and it got us thinking: Do legacy brewery beers still hang out in your shelf? Or are you drinking based on evolved styles or newly-opened breweries? #beer #question.
