We know what the problem is and we have the solutions, so let's keep talking about it, and let's come together in a consensus that we will support a government that is bold enough to take the actions to bring down GHG emissions and ramp up clean, green energy!

350.org@350.org

🔥9 in 10 people want stronger action on climate — across continents, cultures, & communities — united in the belief that our governments must do more. We are the majority! 🌎✊ We need to keep building momentum to push our leaders to act fast to redesign our energy system & protect our futures.

Old fogies: move aside! The youth are rising.

Here is the full post-election night speech by Emily Lowan. This is the change we need in BC. #bcpoli (I didn't get to see it live because Chek News cut it short and then Rob Shaw threw a temper tantrum and trashed the Greens.) www.cbc.ca/player/play/...

Emily is right. The Conservative platform is complete fantasy. So is the NDP's. Neither one will balance revenue with expenditures to provide the services we need. The BC Green platform introduces a wealth tax on households with wealth exceeding $50 million. #votebcgreen #wealthtax #bcpoli

Emily Lowan (she/her)@emilylowan.bsky.social

The Conservatives want you to believe they can cut your taxes, add no new taxes AND balance the budget, all without touching your health care. The BC Greens have a costed plan that makes life affordable and asks the ultrawealthy to pay their fair share. Vote Green on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Let me be clear: we know from evidence in countries around the world that physician dual practice drains resources away from the public system and, in many cases, increases wait times for public patients. This goes directly against the spirit of the Canada Health Act. 1/3

Enforce the Canada Health Act! Canadian tax dollars are being deliberately misappropriated at the provincial and territorial level through underfunding of public healthcare and redirecting federal healthcare funding to create second-tier private for-profit healthcare systems in Canada.

I hope someone draws @mark-carney.bsky.social 's attention to this, and explains to him that many of his supporters are confused and angry over his back-pedaling on global warming solutions and funding a dying fossil fuel industry with our tax dollars. www.nationalobserver.com/newsletters/...

If only Ford's cronies could benefit from creating wind and solar energy, it would be up and running already., and we would be selling surplus to USA.

Today’s economic system is driving climate change and the loss of nature, while at the same time depending on healthy ecosystems to exist. “Our dominant economic system needs fundamental change to respond to planetary overshoot while increasing human wellbeing” says Centre researcher Bianca Voicu.

Kate takes a different approach to explaining the hows and whys of global warming, and it's a really good read. We can see a way out of this pickle of a climate crisis when we all understand and accept the need for urgency, before we cross the last planetary boundary.
