Should Canada host a citizens assembly since Commissions on healthcare have been ignored going back to 1964? Repost below photo of petition draft links to Hall Commission Report of 1964 that recommended pharmacare with $1 fill fee. bsky.app/profile/shan...

This report is from 1964, a Royal Commission on Health Services. Have Canadian Politicians done a good job on HC the last 60 years? Am I missing something in the recommendations? #cdnhealth political failure. publications.gc.ca/site/eng/9.8...

Nothing stopping them from proceeding, maybe public outcry. But the Canada Health Act is null and void from all appearances.

The Conservatives’ proposal to pay for private procedures. “This risks really undermining the public hospital system. It risks reducing equitable access to surgical care, and it’s going to be very costly,” said @alonghurst.bsky.social #bcpoli vancouver.citynews.ca/2026/10/24/h...

Given your time in Office, the goals you had for healthcare, would you support a petition calling on the federal government to fund a national citizens assembly on structural issues like the one posted? Canadians need more stability than Prov elections offer for our largest & most important file.

Every election we hear debate covering similar topics. Vote us we will attach everyone to a doctor (even tho statistically not possible). Vote for X for privatization & Vote for Y for “public” funded (in a for profit system). We keep drifting down a hole to private equity & privatization.

Hey Alberta: is this incompetence or a full on intentional lie? 9003 Acute Care Spaces is NOWHERE near a record number for our prov In the late 1980s we had 17,790 acute care spaces in hospitals (~12,000 acute care beds, +LTC beds) 1988: 7.4 beds/1000 2026: 1.5 beds/1000 1/2

The IDU is an international syndicate for far-right authoritarians, and Canada’s Conservative Party is actively aligned with it. Keeping membership in this organization is a direct betrayal of democratic values. An editorial by @taylornoakes.com.

The government’s own research confirms that removing Canada’s pharmacare program will result in unnecessary citizen deaths. www.canada.ca/en/health-ca... Even knowing that Canadians will die as a result, Carney’s ending pharmacare anyway. 11/ canadians.org/media/press-...

Beats the fuck out of me. His approval rating is 70%. Highest ever. As he smirks, while gutting our public services and transferring yet more wealth to the oligarchs. Disregarding Indigenous rights and rolling back environmental protects while the Earth burns. He's an evil man.

It's not confirmed Aaron Gunn will run/be acclaimed BC Conservative leader—but it seems likely. It would explain the bizarre announcement from Doerkson that there would be no election night scrum. If this bait & switch happens, it calls the legitimacy of the BC election into question. #bcpoli

I have it on good authority that emergency services are completely overwhelmed with calls of breathing problems far outside the evacuation zone.

“Given how fast Nanaimo is growing, the city will need to double the number of beds in its hospital over the next two decades, to 625 beds from 365, Forrest said. To adequately care for north island patients too, an 800 bed hospital will be necessary, he added.” #BCHealthcare #BCElexn

This question is so unfair without unbiased information to back it up. How many people voting yes have any idea what they are loosing out on due to the cost of provincial jurisdiction? But F Ottawa, we have to be angry at them. Healthcare is a disaster in AB & they want more of that 🤷‍♂️

We could have one federal ministry of health that would administer healthcare across Canada; same standards, same administration and saving all the duplicated provincial and territorial bureaucracies. The CEO of ON Health is paid $825,000/yr! Why? How many across Canada are paid like he is?

Because Canada's baseline export volume to the US is so massive, a modest 4% bump in Canadian production and pipeline flow would equal roughly 36-40M barrels over that same timeframe, completely offsetting Russian supply.
