You need to read the comments, too, because the comments are filled with beautiful people.

just asked my tailor if he disavows the muslin brotherhood

I'll be honest, when my HR job turned into a glorified call center, 90% of the calls could have been handled by a bot. But that other 10% REALLY needed a real person.

What I'll always find remarkable is that the people who complained the loudest were the ones with large backyards and plenty of space. The people stuck in cramped NYC apartments were relatively silent.

I want people to understand the full impact of the devastation that First Nations in Canada are facing. It's NOT just that people and wildlife are losing their homes...it's the history that is being lost for generations to come.

Of course if it gets into the water supply and our water treatment plants don't treat for it... But for now, we revel on!

The #GreatLakes literally define Michigan. Our borders are the shore of 20% of all the accessible fresh surface water on Earth. Is this what Governor Whitmer wants her legacy to be? Years of disruptive construction pollution while the aged and dangerous pipeline remains a threat? #ShutDownLine5

Oil & Water Don't Mix@owdm.bsky.social

After 70K+ comments and Michiganders saying firmly NO to the Line 5 tunnel, EGLE has approved Enbridge’s resource permits to build the tunnel under the Straits of Mackinac. This would be a disaster for our Great Lakes, but the fight isn't over.  👉 https://www.oilandwaterdontmix.org/cant_see_straits

This photo contains the entirety of my clarkia crop this year. But if the loss of seedlings is the worse thing to come out of having a stroke, I'd say that's a-okay with me. #gardening

“”raw milk””, another classic invented tradition bsky.app/profile/sara...

Sarah Taber@sarahtaber.bsky.social

When people say "We used to drink raw milk from our own cow and it was fine," That's... usually not the case! In families w their own cow, the mom usually boiled it before using. We just forgot bc that's a boring chore that mom did. And who pays attention to that? youtu.be/vKDPast9WFk

Spoke too soon :/ Will be mostly M.I.A for a bit... Plot twist, it wasn't the meds that caused it, it was an split in an artery likely as a result of Ehlers Danlos. Terrified.

I wasn't aware of hemiplegic migraine until yesterday. And oh boy is that scary thing to experience when you've also been told the combination of meds you need to function case also increase your risk of stroke.

I saw a live birthed harbor seal pup for the first time in my life today. I thought it would be horrifying because I have a weak stomach, but it turned to UNGODLY CUTE very fast! Using this thread for some moments in the minutes after. All shot on my z8, edited on phone for now. 🦭 🦑

Holocaust Studies: fact of the day: When Jewish people and other targeted groups were being rounded up and sent to camps, there was little resistance from the general public in areas where there was high segregation. But in areas where there wasn't, the general population fought back.

So people who weren't close to the targeted population(s) - those for whom this could all be an abstract concept - didn't care and could (and did) ignore it. But when the targeted populations were their neighbors, they're healthcare professionals, their grocers, etc., they weren't going to take it.

Just a fact that popped into my head when I saw people in relatively insulated areas snark about people in MN right now. Pops up when I see legislation to end anti-segregation laws in schools. Or when I see those "whites only" communities popping up. Hm.

It’s 2026 and one of the first things that has happened is that a major news outlet has announced that it will no longer seek information from experts. I don’t think this is gonna help with what I think is the most existential threat to our society currently: disinformation.

If I see one more person make a post saying "I'm against a data center being built in my community, and here is the research I did on them using ChatGPT" I might actually explode. It will be an awful mess. And I'm not cleaning that.

The other day at work I was pulling Big Data-amounts of data using 1970's technology, and it was like being in the space between time, but in the most awkward way.

Same with DEI: the media irresponsibly gives conservatives cover when they use "DEI" to reference any effort to *oppose outright discrimination* against women, Black people, and other marginalized groups.

One of out #beagles, Harper, is preparing to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Two of his siblings seem to understand something isn't right, and have been attentive but gentle.

Just gave someone a complement, and they responded with "I'd like to think this is sarcasm..." so going back to never complementing ever again because my unreasonable paranoia that it's going to upset them has been legitimized.

But when I say I don't want to live next door to, or have a government with, a lower GRE score than I have, suddenly he's saying I'm the bad guy? ;)

Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do

We knew a chunk of this tree would fall eventually... And if it had to fall and crush a large portion of my garden, at least it did so at the end of the season. #gardening

This is becoming so common that someone's going to have to come up with new word to refer specifically to the practice of telling a Jewish person that they are antisemitic if they don't agree to hate another group of semetic people.

Just made pasta sauce from scratch, using all ingredients from my garden, completely unsupervised. I don't know that I've ever done any cooking beyond boiling pasta. Someone call the Vatican, because I'm pretty sure this is legit miracle.

Isn't holding a vigil for someone who thought being gay was wrong at Gay Church dishonoring their memory/wishes? I'm just saying, if people were to have a vigil for me at a football stadium or chewing gum manufacturing plant, I'd haunt them with a vengeance. Jus' sayin'

Judging by the shamefully opportunistic & politicizing rhetoric of some rightwingers on Twitter, & their cynical use of Charlie Kirk’s horrific murder for political point scoring, it’s almost as if Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman wasn’t murdered by a Trump-voting MAGA maniac just 12 weeks ago.

If any church that believes this comes to you asking for funds for their mission trip to "save souls and bring them to Christ," you know it's a scam. This ilk has driven more people from Christianity than anything could. They just want you to fund their vacation/Instagram exploitation porn.
