The HGTV show about lottery winners house-hunting completely ended my bias against the lottery. It has so much more going for it than sports betting. It doesn't make oligarchs richer, it helps the state budget, people rarely go broke playing the lottery, and if you win you're allowed to play again.
Many of our Democratic reps accept money from sports gambling and cryptocurrency interests. One thing we can do is write to them and ask them to stop accepting money from those interests.
I've been hearing about other betting services and it's such an insane grift it's not even funny. At least with sports betting, I'm FAIRLY sure it's not rigged with insider info. They aren't throwing games because of it yet.
Gambling is a cancer for any sane society. Pure psychological manipulation to bilk you out of your money for literally nothing. Needs to be casinos only, no online, no phone, no nothing else.
I have known of people losing their homes because they bet it with a bookie. You can’t use a home to bet on Draft Kings. I was a collector for a bookie in Detroit when I was in my 20’s, and a degenerate gambler will always find a way to bet.
While “think of the children” is often disingenuous framing, it’s valid in this case.
If anyone (not necessarily you) really thinks most of the boys and young men going broke on these apps would have become degenerate gamblers in a timeline without said apps, I can’t take them seriously.
I am in no way supportive of these apps. I think gambling is an addiction that shouldn’t be encouraged. You’re absolutely right about younger people betting. Not many young people know bookies. I did because I ran with a rough crowd.
It ruins everything about sports. They’re not watching for the game, it’s about money, which is pathetic. then can you trust the refs, the player, the coaches are not being paid?
And all the other gambling sites aimed at funneling money from the poor and middle class, mostly unwise men, who gamble, to the rich, mostly clever evil, men who own those gambling sites.
Heh. Back at the Old Site, I could block DraftKings and similar scammer accounts, but that didn't stop them showing up as Trending if they were doing a promoted trend.
2 yrs ago, a crim org used a random number generator to drain my credit union acct $499.99 @ a time on a holiday wknd to pay FanDuel. The CU was very helpful in restoring my balance. I h8 online gambling, & doubly h8. Online betting got to go.

I fucking hate them! I am pro prohibition for online gambling! I could rant so much about it but there are character limits. Fuck all online gambling! Fucking predators!
So true. The ubiquitousness of advertising for gambling is troubling. Gambling doesn't help anyone and it hurts people, especially families that have a chronic gambler.
legal gambling is going to become more and more of a problem. I wonder what kind of political contributions those outfits make
This post violates the Constitutional right of every America to be stupid. Perhaps our most core Constitutional right. Kaitlan Jenner's ad for whatever she was advertising demonstrates in spades the IQ of the target audience.
