i am incredibly excited to share our research about how paying people’s rent through mutual aid made an impact on minnesota this year we accidentally collected more data than anyone ever has for an effort like this, and can very seriously say we prevented an eviction bubble that everyone expected

Still processing the season finale of House of the Dragon and how to rate it. It definitely was impactful. Great battle sequence. Emotional ending. This is why nobody should be either team Black or team Green; they both are depraved. But Rhaenyra is especially evil now. #HOTD #HOTDSeasonFinale

House of the Dragons S3E2: This episode had a rather janky and questionable first two acts. A mix of mediocre acting and bad writing. The last third, though, was powerful and moving, in a very dark way. We're entering a whole new era of not just the plot but Rhaenyra's characterization. #HotD

Before reading anyone else's reaction to the Season 3 Premiere of House of the Dragon, I have this to say: Very good. The latter half is the best action in the show so far. A jaw dropping scene at the very end. Is HotD going to be back in the fandom's good side again?

I made the mistake of saying that people needed to shut up and vote for Platner since that was the only choice. A bunch of very silly people on this very silly site were all SHUT UP THERE'S A WRITE IN CANDIDATE! With 13% of the Maine vote in, she has 58 votes. I think they were all in my replies.

Current status of the fundraisers for those killed by ICE: Renee Good: $1,499,580 Alex Pretti: $1,289,249 Keith Porter, Jr. $302,423 Parady La: $45,848 Heber Sanchez Dominguez: $47,991 Luis Beltrán Yanez Cruz: $18,640 Victor Manuel Diaz: $2,538 Geraldo Lunas: $2,260 Luis Gustavo Núñez: $1,935

Pro-tip in recognizing right-wing rhetoric: pay attention if someone is using the phrase "what time it is" and they aren't talking about a literal time of the day. It's not the same as the lamenting of the "interesting times" that's from across the spectrum: it's a violent call to action.

It's also a way that some far-righters try to separate themselves from your regular Trumpers who love Trump but have insufficient hatred for their left-leaning & leftist neighbors.

I get as frustrated with rank&file MAGA folk too, but I can't assume that they'll necessarily be Vance Boelter-type monsters just by voting red. It's a wide spectrum. But if someone is slipping in questions like "Do you know what time it is?", that's a major warning sign.

Rare for a public poll, we did a survey experiment to test whether priming respondents about the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia impacts support for Trump's broader immigration agenda. It does. Support for blanket deportations fell 20 points after hearing about Garcia's case.

Bosses hated the Biden-era job market where they had to fight over employees instead of abusing them, so used their control over the media to turn inflation into the number one issue, predict a fake recession that never happened, and try to convince Americans to tank the economy. It worked.

The Indeed job postings index is down 2.5 points nationally since Jan 20, DC has fallen 10.6 points--the trend is continued cooling in labor demand
