Celebrating 25 years of the iPod! I’ve always had a love for these devices, and I’m proud to have one of every model! Since the 20th, I’ve added a few oddities to the collection, including the “color display” 4th gen, and the iPod Hi-Fi speaker.

Pro-tip: If the VCR eats your VHS tape, an AirPod stem is the perfect size to release the reels to respool the tape.

Whenever I got on board for something, that was the end of it for everyone else.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

RJ Mitte, best known for portraying Walter Hartwell "Flynn" White Jr. on Breaking Bad, has died at the age of 34.

Amazing news. Can finally take a short term trip to Pittsburgh via Amtrak and actually have it time out well.

The new schedule may not be in the press release, but it's on Amtrak's website! Eastbound trips: Departs PIT 7:10 AM > Arrives NYC 4:43 PM Departs PIT 1:00 PM > Arrives NYC 10:25 PM Westbound trips: Departs NYC 5:50 AM > Arrives PIT 3:14 PM Departs NYC 12:25 PM > Arrives PIT 9:54 PM

Just saw Coyote vs. Acme. It was so much fun! As a lifetime fan of the Looney Tunes, it was a blast seeing all of the minor characters make appearances. Never thought I would see Babbit and Catstello (or Cool Cat) on the big screen!!

God damn it, this is not the 80 year old that appeared in Home Alone 2 we wanted to lose. Rest in Peace Tim. Thank you for always giving a 110% performance.

Fun Fact: Every single State, District, and Canadian Province I’ve visited, I’ve ridden there on Amtrak.

Didn’t have this on my bingo card. It doesn’t seem like it’s going for some of the heavier themes from the game, but it still looks like something I’ll have fun watching having played the games a thousand times.

This. The word loses all of its punch when you use it for everything.

I know the internet always needs a new way to insult others' interests and it was never gonna happen, but GOD I wish "slop" could remain the exclusive domain of "things made with AI" because outside of that context it's already becoming meaningless and like IT'S SO USEFUL FOR THAT PURPOSE.

I loved the Secret Squirrel segments of 2 Stupid Dogs back in the day. I didn’t even know until it popped up on MeTV Toons a while back that it was originally a show from the 60s.

I love that the reasoning for this was that when dudes at HB rewatched the OG series. They remembered it being so much cooler and then just decided to make it real.

I’ll be headed to Chicago for a few days next month to visit VCF Midwest! What are some restaurants, stores, or other things I should check out while I’m in Chicagoland? Open to hearing about good thrift stores, local game or media stores, or other generally neat stuff!

Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties. I loved Garfield when I was a kid, and enjoy the first movie enough. Even as a kid…I knew this movie sucked.

In honor of Hanna-Barbera’s 69th anniversary, what’s your favorite show from the legendary animation studio?

Main reason I keep the Analogue Pocket with me. Whenever I catch myself, I turn around and start playing Pokémon and am normally much happier for it.

I remember when Sega just tried to sell us one copy of Sonic 2 every generation. We were so deprived! How many copies do you think you've bought lifetime including compilations? I assume it's your most repurchased game. It may also be mine.

1st console played: Sega Genesis 1st family console owned: Sega Genesis 1st console that made me properly fall in love with games: Sega Genesis 1st console that was just mine rather than shared: Atomic Purple GameBoy Color 1st console I bought with own money: Electric Blue Nintendo DS

I’ve been working to get a bunch of the laptops and other goodies I have ready for consignment at VCF East this year. I’ll get this thread fired up to show the different machines that are ready to go.

Windows Media Center was the coolest thing to me when I was younger, but that may just be because of the Aquarium screensaver. This Dell Inspiron 9300 is a fun beast from 2005.

I got this Tandy 1000 HX all cleaned up yesterday, pretty neat and convenient system to use for dabbling around with DOS. It has a version of DOS on ROM so you don’t need to worry about having a boot disk, and it has a composite video output for easy hookup.

I’m pretty proud of this Dell Latitude D620. I have it configured to do a quad-boot between Windows 2000, XP, 7, and 10. With an Intel Core 2 Duo, it gives you an incredibly wide range of software support for both old and new stuff.
