Cover reveal! 📚💙 Over 150,000 federal workers resigned last year. We asked them why. The result is Count Me Out: The Best Federal Resignations of 2025. 25 real letters from employees at 18 agencies, plus scholarly analysis, comics, and new poetry. Design by Kate Kinsey. Book coming Oct 2026! 📚💡

PHP is a hot issue today. We want to assure our customers that things are okay. Bicycle Comics has never used any PHP scripts into any of our poetry books, comic strips, or novelty gifts. Our illustrated book of federal resignation letters comes out next week, and no PHP scripts there, either!

NIH’s move toward multiyear funding is a major reason for the drop in grant numbers: The agency now commits several years of funding at once to fewer awards, rather than paying for projects one year at a time. www.the-scientist.com/federal-rese...

The organizational hypothesis of @standupforscience.net is that we believe the scientific ecosystem can thrive if we refuse to compromise our integrity. We believe that if we stand by our values, unflinchingly, we won’t doom science and democracy, we will see a better future. Integrity ages well.

26 former federal employees recall how DOGE cuts felt from the inside, as they stood up and walked out the door. All of them gave up paychecks. Some of them gave up pensions. Count Me Out: The Best Federal Resignations of 2025 comes out next month! #ResignationBook

Our upcoming comic book is currently front-page news on @sfgate.com ! Thanks to Sam Hill for covering the story of federal workers and how/why they left their jobs last year. And HUGE thanks to Kevin Heatley and the 25 other former feds who shared their stories in our book.

Tyler Hassen wants you to know that DOGE worked, that the underlying methodology was sound, and that the problem—if there even were a problem—was one of optics. That's the book he's selling. We've got a different book, based on 26 eyewitness accounts. #ResignationBook

Who's this Tyler Hassen guy, and why is he back in the news today? He's the guy with a new book out telling you DOGE has been tragically misunderstood. 😢

A big ask, no pressure & I know people have better things to do but if about 15-20 people buy this from Blackwell's in the next few hours it's likely I'd have the number 1 & 2 books in their chart & that might be enough to finally persuade an American publisher to get my books out over there...

Yes. All our previous books have been poetry and/or comic strips. Yes, our upcoming book is a collection of federal resignation letters. We follow the good writing, wherever that leads. #ResignationBook

So close: “Vought just wants it broken.” Vought just wants THEM broken. Somewhere along the line, the pain and humiliation of federal workers began to rival the original goal of reduced expenditures and less regulation. He crossed over from “misguided policy goal” to “outright misanthropy.”

Now, the opening line, you have: 🎶 "Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Satan. Hello there!" 🎶 I wonder if that gives away the game a little bit early. Maybe just keep the first sentence?

It's wonky story, but the heartache somehow makes it more accessible? USDS was set up as an elite force of IT pros and UI/UX designers. It could parachute in & help fed agencies deploy better tech. Musk turned USDS into DOGE. It became a bacteriophage. It went in other agencies to wreck them.
