What is the BBC's justification for maintaining this level of coverage of Reform now it has slipped into third place?

Alex Andreou@sturdyalex.bsky.social

BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

Where's Andy Burnham with a cheeky short-form video about making another little tweak to improve everyday people's lives (by sticking with British Summer Time all year round) when I need him?

I have started sending exactly the same question to Americast each week: ‘Given all we have seen in the last two years, does Justin still think that Donald Trump is ‘making American normal again?’ Funnily enough they have not chosen it as a listener question so far.

Did anyone come to exercise as an adult and realise that the later you start the harder it is? It’s much easier to get into the habit of moving your body as a kid and maintain that habit as a grown up. Feel like a lot of people are going to find out the same thing but for thinking.

This won't go anywhere, obviously, but it's still a useful indication of how they'd act if they ever get into Government. Locking up journalists would just be the start

Not only is Andrew Boff a very long-standing Conservative politician but he was one of Kemi Badenoch's close colleagues on the London Assembly. That she can't even tolerate him having different views, shows quite how intolerant of dissent they now are under her leadership

Wonder what would have happened if the Bakerloo Line extension had been given the green light?

The Greenwich Wire@greenwichwire.bsky.social

Landsec has shelved plans to redevelop Lewisham Shopping Centre after the council demanded more social housing in the 1,744-home scheme. Only 98 of the homes would have been for social rent under the plans. greenwichwire.co.uk/2026/10/20/l...

Woah, the redevelopment of Lewisham Shopping Centre has been abandoned. Developers say partly due to economic factors and partly due to the newly Green council placing higher requirements for affordable housing on the scheme. (So now we'll get no new housing, and no new affordable housing, at all)

You may have seen reports about the campaign for charities to be more 'transparent' about who funds them. Well it turns out the mysterious new right-wing think tank behind it won't say who funds or runs them, and used fake names for the authors of the report which launched their campaign

Lowe’s equivalent Facebook post to this tweet is doing crazy big numbers among fairly normie audience, way outperforming Farage…

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

Rupert Lowe of Restore Britain says the electoral success of his political party would "inevitably" lead to civil unrest and rioting. His argument is increasingly that civil conflict has become unavoidable + absolutely necessary (if still partly regrettable + somewhat to be blamed on opponents)

I love that someone thought "Ooh we could use the lyrics here and put appropriate clips together", and I like to imagine there was then a Zoom call with all the festival programmers where they said, for example, "OK, next we have 'strong torso', did anyone see any strong torsos in their films?" #LFF

Paul@bitoclass.uk

And that's the end of my #LFF, but I must mention one other thing I've seen – 19 times in the past 12 days! Every year the thought of putting together the LFF trailer blows my mind, and this year's was no different but, largely thanks to Robyn/Jamie xx, never got old (a first!) youtu.be/yE0xGvfOuuQ

no offence but why is the British public being asked about my medical diagnosis, would it also like to check out my ankles and my elbows to decide whether I really have hypermobile joints, should I cough on them next time I have a cold so they can confirm that I'm ill

YouGov@yougov.co.uk

With much media coverage of a government report that ADHD and autism are being over-diagnosed, a claim which some experts have disputed, half of Britons now believe that the conditions are being over-diagnosed Over-diagnosed: 50% Under-diagnosed: 17% About right: 17% yougov.com/en-gb/daily-...

Are the #CelebrityTraitors so banned from meta-gaming that they can't even draw the obvious conclusion that the last person through the door to breakfast in this special circumstance is definitely not a Traitor, because that would be boring TV?

Good summary of my DLR FoI request response in here – lots of (draft) dates for service improvements and new train rollouts

#LFF film 9: Being Heumann ★★★★★ Am I reviewing the film, or the real-life activism of Judy Heumann and the other disability rights campaigners portrayed in it? Both! A feel-good tale of activist solidarity that felt [to this non-disabled accessibility worker] very inclusive, intersectional and real

Caught up on #CelebrityTraitors at lunchtime so now I can return to scrolling Bluesky and seeing great posts like this
