No matter how messed up the executive and the court systems are, the people are able to check government overreach because we have a jury of our peers. We can decline to indict and we can lever jury nullification.

It may not even be the person that you dislike. It could just be that you share different interests and the person in question posts material that you personally aren't comfortable with, and so you have to block them for peace of mind. There is nothing wrong with that.
