Another #SDCC returning reg where badges for next year have been secured. It's always nice to have that locked down and not have that stress hanging over you going into open reg.

Funny thing about flying cars: we've had them for decades. We call them "helicopters" and they're really, really good at what they do. If your first (correct) thought is "I wouldn't trust your average driver to fly a helicopter", well... maybe that's really the biggest issue with "flying cars".

This one is meaningful to me as my daughter posed for the reference using the SAME yellow wrap Ang used for Brainstorm back in 1999! Also, (with thanks to Scott M Fischer for loaning me his compressor) the old airbrush came out of retirement for the glowing glyphs, just as I'd done back in '99! 🎨

Magic: the Gathering fans, the DUALITY DISTORTED Secret Lair was revealed at last with a new card by Yours Truly. The art order was a black magic version of Brainstorm, which I was super excited to paint!

When you're trying to figure out the position of the legs, you end up with some happy stomps. Some decisions are real hard.

My kid has started a Letterboxd list called Killer Sweaters for films where the killer wears a great sweater and they've asked me to throw it out to Bluesky for more because "that's the kind of thing those weirdos like to do"

I attended the Blade Runner 2099 panel at #NYCC last night and Michelle Yeoh always looks like she’s having the absolute most fun ever and I just love that for her.

The #MTG panel at #NYCC is a small room and has been standing room only for over a half hour. And still won’t start for another 10m. Getting REAL warm in here.

Sitting in the lounge waiting for #NYCC day 2 to start. Feeling more tired than I’d like, but not surprised since I couldn’t fall asleep until far too late. Got a lot to do, so I need to rally. …but I could easily sleep another 3 hours.

It was a really good sandwich. The french toast didn’t quite push through as much as I was hoping, but I think it would shine with some light maple syrup to dip. Falls just short of needing a fork, which is a good place for a sandwich to land.

On the train headed to New York. It’s unfortunately running in reverse (?!?), so I’m traveling backwards and my window seat won’t have the nice shore view… but I’m happy to be underway after a 15m delay. Time yo get settled for the next 4 hours.

If I know anyone that's in NY that's interested in attending #NYCC on Thursday, I have an extra badge that's not being used (but just Thursday). HMU

I have never had a single positive experience at ANY of the car rental places at the Detroit airport. Today’s fuckery is with Hertz. 30m wait to get to an agent. Now told a 40m wait to just get the car. There’s a line literally out the door with dozens of people waiting right now.

I think this is the hull door/flap that lifts to load luggage. My view of what’s going on below is just obscured. So while I’m confident it’ll get closed, still not sure if someone needs to shut it manually.

He missed the rideshare dropoff on the second go-around as well. I had to direct him to the normal gate dropoff spot. In fairness, the app voice instructions sucked. But the “reading the signage” instructions remained rock solid the whole time.

Alphonse Mucha Sheoldred hand painted after his 1897 'Bières de la Meuse' lithograph. Also referencing Ryan Pancoast's Sheoldred illustration, Mark Tedin's depiction of Yawgmoth from Inquest magazine, and Chris Rahn's original art of course.

My neighbors have gotten too comfortable with group texts and I kind of want to scream but I'm holding it in 1) to not be That Guy and 2) not embarrass my wife

Powered down my whole setup to replace my UPS’s battery this morning. Upon coming back up, my GoXLR wouldn’t power on. Just straight dead. End of an era. Took the disruption as a chance to strip my desk and clean everything. Now to figure out a replacement audio interface.

This morning, the Coldstream Guards at Buckingham Palace performed a tribute to Dolly Parton. The last time I remember the guards at the palace honoring the memory of an American entertainer was when they paid tribute to Aretha Franklin after she passed away.

We all agree that "title" being a required field for anything is both completely outdated and absolutely fucking weird, right? If "prefer not to provide" is an option, just don't make the field mandatory in the first place. Even better: just stop asking and collecting it in the first place.
