Canadians have some choice words for US Ambassador Pete Hoekstra, and they’re not holding back. #cdnpoli

The US ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra, warns that the US is “monitoring” Canada for alleged election interference. Meanwhile, US officials have reportedly threatened military invasion over trade disputes, while backing separatist campaigns to break apart the country. #cdnpoli

As the Trump regime imposes tariffs on Canada, backs separatists and threatens Europe over closer ties with Ottawa, Prime Minister Mark Carney is pursuing a major economic and security partnership with the EU to reduce Canada's dependence on the rogue US. #cdnpoli

We should ask the WH press lawyer (oops, secretary) what the deal with Star Link is. I’m sure she will have an intelligent, eloquent response. Oh, wait…..😂

So much for elbows up! Today's @thestar.com exposes Doug Ford's hypocrisy - while talking tough about cutting off electricity exports to the U.S., he has contracted to import dirty American electricity, making us more vulnerable to hostile actions by Trump. #onpoli shrlnk.ca/s/xG5TTI0J

Got to hang out with Frank Miller yesterday, and talk about Thomas Jefferson and the like for a while. Really cool experience. Not one I’d ever been expecting. Books, man; they’ll take you places, introduce you to people. But they won’t snap a photo for you: I never think of that myself.

4% increase in imports from Canada would easily replace the entire physical volume of diesel “negotiated” in the new US-Russia pact.

Thank you Mc.

Being read to and encouraged to read was one of the greatest gifts my parents ever gave me. My parents never put any barriers on their own library, bought us book lights so we could read in the car, and pretended they didn’t notice when I’d be up past bedtime reading under the sheets.

Kelly Barnhill@kellybarnhill.bsky.social

Do we really need to explain to people that it is really, REALLY important to read to young children? Like, you, personally, need to read to your child - your voice, your face, your hand gestures, your lap, your arms, your closeness. What kind of parent doesn't know this in their bones?

Maybe not the dog. But the 16 squeaky toys would like to join the chat.

This isn't just grasping at straws -- it's grasping at thin air. LNG Canada uses steel modules fabricated in China because we don't make them here. The first phase was built in large part because of a duty waiver the Trudeau government granted. Would PP like to see the project not built at all?
