Sold! An absolute steal at the price.

Know someone who might like some vintage steel between their legs? Check out this 1984 #Nishiki I just put back on its tires after 40 years in storage. Virtually zero miles since new www.craigslist.org/view/d/san-d...

This really speaks to the bias of those running the City of San Diego transportation department that in a time of record high gasoline prices they are cutting funding and firing key staff responsible for making biking safer.

If you can afford to drive to the beach, you can afford to pay for parking at the beach.

There are 8,221 public parking spaces in the city’s beach and bay lots…Over the course of a full year, the city could collect more than $37.5 million even with a conservative estimate of lots being, on average, half full. My latest for @kpbssandiego.bsky.social www.kpbs.org/news/economy...

Demi Vollering wins an instant-classic Tour de France Femmes that bike racing fans will remember forever. An important reminder that you don't need to save women's sports—you need to watch women's sports.

We all make mistakes.

The owners of Astoria’s renowned King Souvlaki food truck took the city to court last year to stop the city from installing a protected bike lane on 31st Street — but now, they’re supporters.

A prominent NIMBY org is now just tweeting out xenophobic nonsense blaming Chinese people for the housing shortage. Here are the San Diego County elected officials who continue ot endorse this group: Solana Beach Lesa Heebner – Mayor Jill MacDonald – Councilmember David Zito – Councilmember 🧵/2

It’s true.

similar to the phenomenon where agents tell their clients with dead careers that they lost out on jobs due to affirmative action, i think there's a lot of dead/dying businesses that are happy to use the bike lanes as a cope to avoid facing their real problems

Glad to see the old sign has been adopted and restored by an Arby's executive. In 2024 anti-development preservationists fought to preserve it in-situ on Hollywood Blvd. where the old Arby's had stood for 55 years. Had it stayed it would have been lost to neglect. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...

latimes.comWhy the iconic Hollywood Arby's sign from Sunset Boulevard was at StagecoachThe Hollywood Arby's on Sunset closed in 2024, but its sign found a temporary home in the desert at the Stagecoach Music Festival over the weekend.

I recently heard our streets described as under the control of an automotive regime and I think its accurate.

While I favor the fare increase, there's a huge difference in how elected officials respond to people that drive versus those that use transit. People that drive to Balboa Park get to keep all of the parking and pay nothing while those using transit will pay more and possibly get less service.

First biccies in San Diego! I’ve been patiently waiting for the first protected intersection in the region. I thought it was going to be on Santa Fe Dr in Encinitas but that council became anti-bike and redesigned. Then I thought it would be University @ 54th but that got delayed (will still happen)

At its heart, this is a story about sprawl and the lack of a public square in many cities and towns. Places with parks, plazas, and places people can access for free often have outdoor concerts, movie screenings, or just ways people can socialize and have fun without having to pay for it.

bloomberg.comThe Fun Shortage Is Real, and It’s Making America MiserableWith fewer places to relax and socialize, and steeper prices for entry, having fun is quantifiably harder than it used to be.

A solid retort for any name-calling

-Christina Lorey "“COMMUNIST!” an angry white guy shouted at Zohran Mamdani as he hopped on a Citi Bike. “Actually, it's pronounced 'cyclist,’” the New York mayor calmly replies. Calm. Clear. Clever. Concise. Kind. He should give our current president a lesson! "

Still a great idea! #BalboaPark

A mere 8 years ago we removed cars from Central Park. Never listen to anyone that claims you can't remove cars. Ever.

Probably the best example of a rapid bottom-up energy transition: Pakistan imported more Chinese solar last year than any country on earth. No big subsidy, no rooftop scheme, no feed-in tariff. Solar is now around a quarter of electricity. More in my piece👇 www.thenewworld.co.uk/jan-rosenow-...

thenewworld.co.ukPakistan’s solar miracle – how the hell did they do it?Faced with constant electricity blackouts and a failing grid, people in Pakistan took matters into their own hands. The result is a lesson for the rest of the world, and also a warning

Was hit by an SUV that pulled out of a gas station. Knocked me off my bike and bent derailleur ($200) along with some other damage. A cop stopped, looked at my bike and said “glad everyone is ok and we can all go”. Driver left while I talked with the cop and he told me to be more careful.
