Osvaldo “Ossie” Virgil made his major league debut 70 years ago today. In doing so, he became the first Dominican-born player in the American or National Leagues. 621 days later, he broke the color line for the Detroit Tigers.

When I started following baseball, Walter Johnson was the All Time leader in strikeouts. He’s now 11th.

Am I the only one that try’s to guess player and year for Every Topps cards? It’s been weeks since I got all 4, until today.

I remember when Mays and Mantle were once banned from MLB for working relationships with gambling.

Page 35 really gives you that '63 Topps Flavor. I love these base cards so much. The "Tiger Twirlers" are wearing the 1960 jersey (still!), we get our first rookie stars, and most importantly, two clear shots of Tiger Stadium. Maybe the first we've really seen on a Topps card. #ToppsTigers75

If you’re like me you have a “wantlist” that includes cards that you have no reasonable expectations of ever getting but they’re on the list anyway. I have lots. Well, somehow I got two this summer: from the 1903 Breisch-Williams set (E107), the first I’ve ever seen so I thought I’d share with you
