A few notes about myself: I'm not a journalist. I'm not a political expert. I don't have all the answers. I'm a lousy proofreader. I'm just an opinionated American who strongly believes that a rising tide lifts all boats. And right now, I only see 0.1% of the boats lifting.

The jokes are going to come flying at Katie Zacharia, and rightfully so. But let's point out that Trump hired a breathtakingly incompetent person for the job because he has...a certain type (to put it delicately).

I have a trade deficit with woman who used to own my house. I paid her thousands of dollars for her home and she paid me nothing. Now, all I have is a house worth thousand of dollars. I could have saved those thousands of dollars if I lived on a bench in the park. It's just simple Economics.

Mike Johnson affixing himself to the anchor that is Trump and plummeting to the bottom of the ocean is stupid in itself. The fact that he is dragging the rest of America down with him is making it vile.

Good people can do bad things. Bad people can do good things. Slapping a label of "bad" or "good" on someone never tells the whole story. We shouldn't forget that people are messy and complicated.

I'm a lifelong New England Patriots fan, even as far back as the dark days of the early 1990s. I still follow them even though I don't watch the games all that much anymore. It's going to be harder for me to invest myself more fully based on Robert Kraft's push to remove Macklemore from the tour.

It's Kraft's stadium and he can do what he likes it with it. Likewise, I can choose to spend my time and my dollar elsewhere in response. I know my voice here is a drop in the ocean, especially with the NFL involved, but it's still my voice in the end.

Rest in Peace to Dolly Parton. She was a music icon and an even more incredible human being. Her generosity is something we should all learn from and strive towards.

Werner Heisenberg is driving when a cop pulls him over: "Do you know how fast you were going?" "No, but I know exactly where I am." "Well, you were driving 90 MPH." "Oh great...now I'm lost!"

I skipped the President's address to the nation last night. It's bad enough he has to lock himself in a closet so he can bask in the smell of his own farts, but does he have to drag the rest of us in there with him?

Lindsey Graham inflicted incalculable damage on this country thanks to his spineless boot-kissing of Trump. I will not dance on his grave...but I will not celebrate him either.

"Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority." ― Arthur Schopenhauer

I really don't know much about Ted Turner the man, but Ted Turner the media mogul was an icon and his impact cannot be understated. RIP (Here's to hoping they schedule his services to begin at five minutes after the hour.)

I'm thinking because he sees his value as how many things he can name after himself. It's always Trump Tower, Trump Steaks, Trump Airlines, Trump This, Trump That... he's a very insecure and vain person.

I’m fascinated by how obsessed Trump is with his ballroom but still unsure why he wants it so bad. There is definitely an untold story there that goes beyond him just wanting a larger event space.

Like...the shooting last night may have very well been an actual serious incident. But given Trump's propensity to stretch the truth and flat out lie...who can say for sure?

Translation: We are in way over our heads here and we are in need of help that our arrogance doesn't permit us to ask for.

Hegseth: "We are not counting on Europe, but they need the Strait of Hormuz much more than we do, and might want to start doing less talking and having less fancy conferences in Europe and get in a boat. This is much more their fight than ours."

On this Earth Day, let us remember that we are alive on this planet because of the fragile balance that has been cultivated over billions of years that allows life to flourish. And we, as humans, are jumping up and down on the end of the seesaw. I wish more of us took it seriously.

Funny how those who proclaimed to be the most devout in their faith seem to be so easily to shed it in favor for the Cult of Trump. It's almost as if they used their religion as a veneer and not for anything to guide themselves through life.

Fox News beta cuck Sean Hannity: “As of today, I no longer consider myself a Catholic.” Not only selling out your dignity and integrity but also your eternal afterlife for a man who would push you in front of a bus if you got in his way. Good work. 1/2

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

What in the Cinnamon Toast Crunch fuck is this supposed to be? I thought this was a fake post when I read it, but no. It's real. Our goddamn President, ladies and gentleman. What a dangerous madman and an utter embarrassment.

Trump: Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP

George Carlin said it best: The upper class keeps all of the money and pays none of the taxes. The middle class does all of the work and pays all of the taxes. The poor are there just to scare the shit out of the middle class.

Wealth inequality is eating this country alive. Concentrated wealth is already endangering our democracy. Wealth doesn’t just beget more wealth — it begets more power. It’s a vicious cycle that destroys our economy and democracy at the same time.

Trans friends, thank you for being you, and for, when you can, sharing yourselves with a world that is so frequently undeserving of the light you bring to it. I love and support you, always. 🏳️‍⚧️🫂🫶

It's uplifting to see the photos of No Kings protests. However, organized protests won't be enough. We must hit their wallets. Organized boycotts, even at the cost of an easier life for ourselves. They can scoff at the images of protests, but they can't do that to weak quarterly earnings reports

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is now over 4,800 points lower than it was, dropping nearly 10%, since we were admonished for not praising the President because it was at 50,000.
