I know nothing at all about #rocks but my favorite dorky dad activity is to go about halfway out in the river and dig down under the surface and find what I think are cool rocks.

Renovating my old clapboard house. Was hoping to find some old coins. No luck so far but found this calendar from 1916. Pretty cool #antiques #restoration

New type of running today. Wanted to be with my boys but they wanted to skate. So I ran 50 laps around this little skate park. In crocs. It was not well thought out. Massive blisters. Haha!

Went up Mt Cole in #Virginia to watch the sunset with the wildfire smoke making filters. Could not capture the true beauty. The sun was purple, pink, and yellow. #hiking #photography #appalaciantrail #getoutside to #nature

Today my sons completed a central PA rite of passage for them. Climbing to the top of the 1000 Steps outside Mount Union, PA. Quarry workers used to climb those steps every day to get to work. One of my favorite views any where. Worth the climb. #photography #hiking #getoutside to #nature

#ThickTrunkTuesday. This is a massive Sycamore on the farm I grew up on. Less than 50 feet from her is the remains of the Pennsylvania Canal. Spread throughout the fields surrounding her are countless Native American artifacts. The stories she could tell…

Not really #trailrunning. More gravel. When this trail opened I said I was gonna do this all the time. But the tunnel makes my gps go wonky and I hate that. #blueridgetunnel #getoutside to #nature

Cheating because my #stunday photo was from a hike I did with my boys yesterday. Mount Cole in VA. Was an awesome hike and my boys did great but still getting the ticks off.

Which there was a way to share how amazing the trail smells while out #trailrunning with all these beautiful #flowers blooming. #photography #getoutside to #nature

I needed the #mountains so bad that I could feel it in my throat on my drive to the trail. Therapeutic. #traileunning #getoutside to #nature #photography

personally would like to see every store show what part of the price increase is due to tariffs bc if these tariffs ever come down, i need to see that price go right back down

Running back down the mountain and come across a fresh pile of bear scat and then get into town and all the neighborhood dogs are going nuts. Think I just missed crossing paths with Mr. Bear. #trailrunning #photography #getoutside to #nature

I love a distant turn while #traileunning. What’s going to be around the turn? A bear? Coyote? Deer or turkeys? Nothing but trees and the trail to keep pushing myself on? Three different trail runs around the turn was a naked person. Haha! #photography #getoutside to #nature

Still learning my ways around the small town in #applachia. Pictures don’t do this little league field justice. Even my son that doesn’t like baseball wanted to play Also, it had such a bear feel that I was shocked we didn’t see a bear.

Not particularly religious these days but went on a diet for Lent and dropped 30 pounds. I’ll be back on the diet tomorrow but today…I’m eating every morsel of this monster.

Every so often I think about the fact that our country accidentally deported someone and the leaders say there’s nothing they can do and we know he’s not just lost in a country but stuck in a prison and our military is not attacking said country and we are not in full revolt and it hurts my soul.

I spend a lot of time #trailrunning in the woods. Today I ended up out somewhere in Allegheny County, VA. Found this thicket of new growth, at least 10-15 acres. Pictures don’t do justice. Never seen woods this thick. #getoutside to #nature #photography

Today, while the market collapsed and four soldiers who died on an exercise in Lithuania arrived at Dover, where was Donald Trump? Was he monitoring the markets? Was he there for the arrival of these heroes? Nope: he was golfing, with the Saudis

Walz: It's like trump is stuck in the 80s. His music, his clothing, his thinking. I think the biggest myth perpetuated on this country that Donald Trump understands anything about business. He's bankrupted every single one he's been into, and now he's bankrupting this country

If you’re okay with a woman being snatched off the street for free speech and peaceful protest and detained with no due process …you have fully lost the plot on what AMERICA is supposed to be.

This trail was my baby before I got divorced. I logged countless miles on her. Gentle 6 miles out and back with 500 ft elevation. I cleared the shrubs, cut trees that had fallen, and ran my weed eater. Haven’t been there in a while. Glad someone is taking care of her. #trailrunning #nature

Went for a nice run in the rolling ridges and hills of where I grew up in Central PA tonight. Got done and realized I had done a “treadmill” run on my #Garmin so it didn’t track my elevation. Nooooo!!! #trailrunning #photography #getoutside to #nature

The contempt they have for disabled children is rooted in a mistaken belief that there aren't too many of them. Estimates show that between 1-in-8 and 1-in-5 students in America have some kind of learning disability. There are an awful lot of SPED families out here, and we will *fight* this shit.

Nikki McCann Ramírez@nikkimcr.bsky.social

Jessica: When I hear Republicans out there talking about their plan for education in America, I don't hear them talking about making sure disabled kids have access to a public education. Greg: Because we're against it.

Not really #stunday worthy but the best pic I could get on my #trailrunning today. Went out for what I was planning on being a flat-ish run and ended up hitting a mountain. Welp. Climbed that mountain. #getoutside to #nature

A breezy evening in the mid 60’s as a nearly full moon rises over the Appalachians can make you just for a few moments forget about all the chaos in the world. #getouside to #nature #trailrunning #photography

Ran to the top of a #mountain today. You can just make out the glint of the roofs of my town down below. I do love a turn and burn down a mountain. #trailrunning #running #getoutside to #nature

This is insane. If you wonder why some of us think the rule of law is about to fall, it's this. The U.S. Attorney for DC is not "President Trump's lawyer" and its job is not to "protect his leadership" nor prosecute people who "refuse to put America first".

Following Elon Musk, the world's richest man, two speakers at CPAC, Steve Bannon, who was pardoned by Donald Trump, and Mexican actor Eduardo Verástegui, have now given Nazi salutes. This is a major scandal + should push us all to mobilize, protest, and call out #CPAC for what it is: a Nazi rally.

James River Foot Bridge on the #appalachiantrail. Just recently learned it’s not called the foot bridge because it’s for walking but actually named after a Mr Foot. #trailrunning #photography #getoutside to #nature

I am SO sick of his use of the “r” word. Guaran-fucking-tee if he doesn’t end up being stopped at some point beforehand, he’ll eventually get around to killing off all the protections for special education kids.

I love an old gnarly #tree. I always gotta stop and take a picture when I see one. However…just looking at this picture I took today. Anyone else see a face/head?! #haunted #ghost

The fact that Elon Musk has been sleeping in his office across the street from the White House for the past few weeks while he is the CEO of six separate companies proves that CEOs are not worth their price tag.

Saw a Great Blue Heron on my #trailrun today. This #bird was being all curious, checking me out as I ran and then I tried to get her picture and she got all camera shy. #getoutside to #nature
