My officemate and I had a very bad case of the Dontwannas this afternoon, so I made an Oware board with tape and beans. She trounced me in the first game (I only got 2), but I had a commanding win in the second match.

Vampire Crawlers has this mechanic I’m starting to encounter that I think I love. If you overuse a card in a single round, it breaks. When it breaks, these purple reapers come out and will murk you. It is a cool way to balance insanely OP builds.

I love that my daughter, who is my dedicated game buddy and will play actually anything, is at a point where she can present a design she’s made to me, I can tell her some thoughts and feedback, and she’ll go run with that productively. It’s cool.

I am infinitely annoyed that someone gave me a big poker chip set didn’t want anymore and all of the chips have denominations written on them in sharpie. At least it’s funny that on some of them they wrote “A Billi”

What's the point of poker chips without values on them?!

I realized I was _really_ close to having all the rules on here, so I tried to add the few that were missing.

It changed a little from this original idea but not very much. Coming soon to a deck of cards near you!

Silly idea I had yesterday that won’t leave my head: Partnership may follow trick taker where the trick winner scores the trick as though it was a cribbage hand

For any mahjong fans in the crowd, Taipa Supremacy: Quick Mahjong is really freaking good and quite spicy! You use the tiles themselves to keep track of score, so round by round the number of available tiles dwindle. It's very cool :)

Say what you will about the American Cribbage Congress’s choice of phone number, but it’s certainly memorable. I used to know everyone’s phone number by heart, but these days I only know mine, my partner’s, and, now, the American Cribbage Congress’s.

Love these types of maps, here is one about how different Dutch speaking regions say "fries" 🍟.

Taught a PnP copy of The Adventures of NitNit, Woo, Bid Coin, Shortstack. Love love love sharing all these games with my local TT / shedding group.

Might’ve been me missing it, but I feel like none of my friends here in the big blue sky share their weekly plays until I do so here they are! I am VERY happy with Miai. It feels like a special game. I might be high on my own supply, but I don’t fawn over my own stuff. I think it’s a good one. :)

Greetings all. I have put this off for some time now but I am struggling to pay an enormous printing debt to my current printers. Therefore I am asking for all your help. If you've ever enjoyed my games, please consider donating so I can continue to make them. www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/help-neonr...

In short, this is the book. If you love games, this is the one to read and to point others too. There are other books if there’s a particular facet you want to dive in to, but if you just love games in all their forms and history, there is nothing else out there like Tim’s book.

I’m more proud of sticking to my goals with this design. I wanted the card points to matter like they do in every other Trifle design I make. That’s what makes it a Trifle game for me. And I think matters A LOT, and I’m stoked for that.

Here’s some interesting stuff that it has: - Beat it and Eat it: score the melds you beat - When a player passes, their opponent gets a VP, but they score the meld they pass on - Swapping, which is like Adding in other games but instead you score one card off the table to sub one of your own

- The shedder gets a VP, but the player who captures a higher sum of card points (like Trifle: the number on the card is how many points it is worth), gets 2VP. I am lowkey very proud of the tension in each little decision you can make.

Did you know that the expression 'even a moron connects against a peep' comes from Go? I had no idea. As does 'don't make empty triangles' & 'the comb formation is alive'.

Now that 5 of a Kind is on BGG, I posted my design diary about the game. The game is my love letter to deckbuilding roguelites and traditional climbing/shedding games. It's a weird and wild game and I'm so excited for people to check it out. boardgamegeek.com/thread/37824...
