My week in games has been nicely diverse!

While I was away in Germany this little fellow arrived at my doorstep! My very own one of a kind Gosling from Oberon Ocarinas :)

For @proptartmn.bsky.social @byssh3.bsky.social and anyone else who is interested, the Iello Cribbage set looks like this when opened up. Like all their traditional card games, it comes with a nice booklet containing not only the rules but also a bit of history and some variants.

Because a friend had never heard of it, here's a treasure from my collection: Edward Gorey's storytelling card game THE HELPLESS DOORKNOB, originally published in 1989 in a limited edition of 500. It's twenty laminated cards with typically Gorey text and art: a large cast of characters with names

The most perplexing thing about Essen this year was booth 3M600 which was supposed to be Osprey Games but was actually a tattoo parlor. No idea where Upland & Prairie was sold, but it certainly wasn't where the Spiel app said it was

yeh tbh if AI is so great you should be proud of it, you should disclose it everywhere and put a bunch of stickers yourself that you used it for your project showing everyone how cool and cutting edge you are, no? like, it's the future right? you love it right??

Burn this shit down

For any mahjong fans in the crowd, Taipa Supremacy: Quick Mahjong is really freaking good and quite spicy! You use the tiles themselves to keep track of score, so round by round the number of available tiles dwindle. It's very cool :)

Once again creators covering my games on refusing to simply *say my name*. It feels intentional at this point. As creators, it’s your due diligence to say the name of the designer of a game you’re covering. Would you do this for a book?? And as viewers, we should call out those that don’t.

Technically untrue. The fivedeck just so coincidentally happens to be compatible. The game was conceived with a standard deck in mind 🙂

I am in the private alpha of this because I know a guy and I am *obsessed*. I am gonna play so much of this on BGA when it opens up.
