Every word of it is literally true. Just because your LLM might not have been as good doesn't mean it couldn't have been trained on copyright-free materials. Clarifying what copyright means doesn't negate that or justify the ongoing theft.

TTRPG designers, players, readers, and commentators: the new journal of RPG studies, Playtest Material, is seeking subscribers to help grow and sustain itself. PM is something special. The caliber of writing has been incredible from the start.

A serious one today. "This is a call to our readers and future readers: please, consider before scrolling away, if you think our magazine is worth £18+postage. It is not just an investment in a bundle of paper, but in meaningful critique in the ttrpg space." playtestmaterial.org/playtest-mat...

So many apps I use have devs w/ Fiddlers Disease now. Stuff randomly changes, then ope, we changed it back next release, or to a new third thing. Indie devs! You're not a megacorp full of Product Guys striving to get promoted, so there's no reason for this! You sell software to users! Get a grip!

LLM use and the bad mental habits it encourages are causing software to get buggier, but also even when software isn't outright failing, maintainers are manifesting what I have taken to calling Fiddlers Disease: rapidly changing things around (especially in the UI) with no apparent rhyme or reason.

I’m hosting a community gathering at the Sheraton Lobby bar at 5pm, today! I’ve always enjoyed conversational diverse events at RailsConf, so let’s have one, one last time. I’ll put a little money behind the bar so come along, have a drink on me, and make some Ruby friends! #railsconf

Oldie but goodie

Loving how "Iceberg Class" is consider an anti-pattern to one person, then a good way to ensure class doesn't violate SRP to another person. I'm siding with @calebhearth.com on this one. Love me some easy-to-understand iceberg classes all day every day.
