you: Americans are hated around the world me, an old person who grew up during the bush era, lighting your cigarette: first time?

update: the kids do not know how to type every semester im back in school i see the wildest shit - on top of the kids not being able to read, im now noticing they are PECKING at their keyboards with pointer fingers what the fuck is going on im being serious

im watching the making of Disco Elysium and Aleksander Rostov says this thing about being young, finding people, forming your "gang", and then going and committing "art hooliganism" against society i just thought that was incredible and we should just do that even if we arent young

getting on this app and seeing so many people shit on Star Trek kinda sucks :/ i grew up on TNG and as far as the “newer” shows - i love Discovery and Strange New Worlds and it’s so lame seeing people shit on stuff they don’t like instead of just talking about stuff they do 😞

Gamers have such incredibly unreasonable demands of indies it's sort of a wonder anything gets made at all. I could never fault an indie dev for just wanting to withdraw entirely from public from what are deeply wild, unfair or aggressive demands on their passion projects from 'gamers'. #gamedev

My self-care routine? When I walk into the teleporter I am actually completely obliterated, and a fresh new identical replica with no continuity of consciousness but a set of false memories is instantiated from nothing in the other end

NORCO is one of my all time favorite games and if you get it for 65% off that’s highway robbery on I59 and also I10 so you really should just jump on this

NORCO's a Christmas game. 65% off on Steam through December 12th.

i want you to think about how many books you read this year and then note how you're going to change that starting today not enough time? stop scrolling reels, shorts, tiktok - you arent shocked at how many collective hours a day being flushed down the toilet, you're just letting it happen

and while i think reading is of the utmost importance, this goes for anything that social media and short form content has taken from you don't just read - go paint, build a lego set, plant a little garden, write a short story, write a book! do anything other than sit in a vegetative state please

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

No, I 100% agree that computer RPGs these days have too much handholding. I, too, yearn for the days of being able to spend hours crafting my perfect build from hundreds of available options, only to discover that it mathematically cannot survive the mandatory rat fight portion of the first dungeon.

web search results are such a wasteland now and I hate it I miss finding cool information on websites that were clearly personal passion projects, or giant FAQs formatted in pure ASCII that explained everything about a niche topic

cannot stress enough that if you’re feeling numb, disconnected from life, and disillusioned with everything in it- go outside go to the park, volunteer in your community, go to game meetups, do anything that snatches you from the loop of the internet bc it’s truly vile here and you will feel better

The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.

im having such a good time watching The Beast in Me Clarie Danes plays an author (WHO IS GAY), years behind on her next book, living in an old house thats falling apart at the seams which pretty much mirrors her own mindset and the whole thing is rainy and moody and mysterious and im eating so good

its so weird going through Hard Times and not wanting to post about it bc if feels so demoralizing and embarassing then going through Good Times but not wanting to post about it bc it makes you feel like you're rubbing it in other peoples faces while the world burns

steam is apparently allowing "this game had AI in it that it didn't disclose" as a valid return statement, so if you or anyone you know actually paid $70 for slop, get that money back

Justin Đoàn@soundaholism.bsky.social

Insulting to the players, insulting to the IP, insulting to the medium, the developers. And the craft itself. Fuck you executives who pushed this garbage. frvr.com/blog/call-of...
