Posting the same text+image in every thread is fast track to being blocked. Then I see the bio says “botnet”. (Leaving this here, briefly, as a warning to others.)

I wonder if a lawyer could argue they fired Pretti’s gun so they could claim a clear and present threat. Only reason I can speculate why they would fire it.

I disagree. This is perilously close to the “One True Scotsman” fallacy. These reprehensible individuals are Federal officials. They are abusing and killing people in the streets. Denying their employment cannot be helpful.

No matter how it happened, it was another street execution.

It’s more cynical than this powerful image. A federal officer took the victim’s gun, while the victim was being held down. He then fired the victim’s gun into the ground, causing other officers to then load up the victim with bullets.

#ResistanceUnited #DefendersOfDemocracy #AbolishICE In case you missed it, Alex Pretti was disarmed by ICE agents before he was shot. His blood is on the hands of the politicians who continue to enable this... RIP Alexander Jeffrey Pretti 🙏🏻❤️🪦🕊️

Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.” Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

These guys were already nuts but they've been further radicalized by realizing that entire cities want them dead. Next administration will have to treat them like the rabid dogs they are.

But this is how Border Patrol in particular has behaved, continuously. They threaten and brutalize people at the slightest provocation. They troop around like an invading army, not a force that is supposed to protect us. When you see it, it’s so clear: they’re the conquerors, we’re the enemy.

We've now repeatedly seen top officials immediately declare the shootings justified, lionize as heroes the agents who've executed people, brazenly lie about the victims, refuse to open investigations, and impede local attempts to investigate. The fuck is a body camera going to do?

Reflecting on it, one of the craziest things that happened yesterday - and it was clear even from rapid response reports - is how, after the shooting, DHS flooded many dozens of agents into the scene, effectively taking over the block. Not MPD or emergency services, the immigration agencies.

Dems should introduce legislation now defunding ICE and CBP operations in Minnesota, so they have to leave the state. One sentence bill. Demand an immediate vote. Maybe refuse to vote for cloture on any funding bills (or other bills) until a vote. Make the GOP Congress break w/ Trump or own it all.

Just when you thought it could not get worse: extortion on the table?

Chris Murphy@chrismurphyct.bsky.social

Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump. Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

ICE killing #AlexPretti should remind you of police killing #PhilandoCastille. Both men had concealed weapon permits, did not draw their guns, & were killed in Minn. These homicides are the price of unaccountable policing. These deaths are variations on the same fatal theme.

Guys if you see observers thank them. There’s real stress and burnout in the ranks right now. People understand they are waking up every day to chase and monitor federal thugs who can execute them. But they keep doing it nonstop to protect their neighbors
