Yes, only ordinary people can save us, but the opportunity is not distributed evenly. A few of us can refuse to participate, to bomb boats, to kidnap and mistreat people, to destroy public property, to misdirect money. You few have to refuse.

Legally insane means not knowing right from wrong. It doesn't mean being an epic asshole. It doesn't mean having a sadistic streak. It doesn't mean compulsive lying. 47 knows right from wrong. He just doesn't care. That makes him competent to stand trial.

Some of us in San Francisco first heard of the Network State and related tech cults from Emily Mills. She documented how these ideas had infused our local politics. It sounded odd at first, but her work sparked mine. On Tuesday, we're onstage together in SF. Tix here: semaphore.thd.org/954-2/

Peter Thiel praises evil. Peter Thiel hates democracy. Peter Thiel founded Palantir. Peter Thiel owns JD Vance. Peter Thiel is the most powerful billionaire in the United States. Peter Thiel can’t stop talking about the “Antichrist.” Find out why. Read “The Nerd Reich”

I'm not a religious person, but if there were such a thing as the Antichrist, he would do what Trump does every day. Destroying our beautiful planet and the lives of its people for the sake of A. profit and B. a vengeful urge to destroy what other people love. So yes, demonic is the right word.

“If the move survives expected legal challenges, it could also prevent future administrations from regulating greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.” Absolutely fucking demonic. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/13/c...

When you think that there ought to be laws against things you see happening.... There probably are. The laws just are not being enforced. We expect enforcement to be discretionary in the interest of justice, but we don't have good mechanisms to challenge the decision not to enforce a law.

Looking forward to reading The Nuance Drought by Natasha Devon, which is out on Thursday. She's a force for good. It's about how living in a world of binary choices and polarising narratives affects communities, society, our physical and mental health. Crucial stuff. uk.bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

I think we should look at Scott Bessent's FinCEN decision as akin to Todd Blanche's bid to immunize Trump and the failsons. Even just Trump Org has hundreds of beneficial orgs. Imagine how many the crypto corruption has? Now, poof! All gone. www.fincen.gov/news/news-re...

Companies in a variety of industries are making big plays to extricate themselves from liabilities large and small, mostly large. They want us to talk about how to do it, but we must maintain that it may not be done. Public policy prohibits laying off responsibility.

Marijuana is legal in CA and I support that (I don't use it). However, I would like to be able to test whether someone is impaired due to marijuana. MJ can be detected in the body weeks after use, so that kind of test is useless. Is there a solution to this problem?

One of the most reliable indicators of whether trading in a stock will increase is if it appears in the news. It doesn't matter why. Maybe the CEO married a celebrity. But that's why 47 name dropping companies is so consequential. He has the reach to be heard, plus he has a cult following.

If you've asked yourself, what can *I* do, here's a concrete answer. Disable the surveillance apparatus in your own community and cut off the data the regimes relies on to track not only immigrants but women crossing state lines for abortion care. substack.com/home/post/p-...

Masterclass. Never accept their premise, never have their argument - force your own. Give people a clear origin story for their pain and concrete reason to believe you are the one to address it.
