Woke up this morning and this beautiful trophy was in the house and it was not a dream. Utterly stunned, extraordinarily grateful, deliriously happy. Such a privilege to be part of this year's shortlist, huge thanks to the Clarke Award judges and congrats again to all the brilliant nominees 💫🤍🐺

Finished When There Are Wolves Again by E.J. Swift last night. Engrossing and slippery. My thoughts kept trying to see it pigeonholed. Either the bleak trudge into dystopia or the Pollyannish float into utopia. It could have never been either. Life is neither. What a triumph this book is. #books

Really enjoyed this review of Dooneen by Keith Ridgway, which I think pairs interestingly with M John Harrison's The End of Everything in its anti-explanatory approach. And they both have such a glorious use of language.

Absolutely made up to see this review of Wolves from New Scientist 😊🐺

When There Are Wolves Again by E. J. Swift somehow delivers both a determined call for more wildernesses globally – and a great novel. Sci-fi columnist Emily H. Wilson is thrilled she gave it another chance

Unfortunately, I myself am not going to PictCon because I'm ill, but in lieu of my presence I offer con-goers this review of @emfaulds.com's lovely collection, These Broken Little Worlds.

Rest in peace, Joe Harkness. I was shocked and gutted when I heard the news. He was a generous, inspirational teacher and such an important writer. He was brutally honest, inclusive and funny too.
