I don't have many followers but need to tell this story. I was in an Uber on the way to the airport and having a nice chat with the driver, a 48 yo woman from Guatemala, a US citizen, and a single mom of 2 grown men. She works 7 days a week. As we were approaching the airport,

The other graduated from college and pursuing his career. She just went to school to get her CNA license so she doesn't drive 7 days a week. She was so kind and hardworking and so excited to be a grandma. I'm not a hugger but when she got out to get my luggage, I asked if I could hug her.

she told me she has been stopped multiple times, asking for her passport which she carries at all times. She said it was either her accent or the color of her skin . She used to go to Guatemala 3x per year to visit family but doesn't go any longer. One son is a police officer with a baby on the way.

Where did we go wrong? Attacking immigrants, elevating billionaires, electing a felon to the presidency, not trusting our neighbors, our teachers, our institutions, sending armed thugs into cities, meanness. Hometown USA. Gone. At the hands of a greedy and incompetent administration.

I don’t have much of a platform or following but need to share this. The Republicans have added this to the CR and essentially this means Congress is ceding their ability to stop this tariff nonsense. Trump can only impose tariffs if he declares national emergencies. #tariffs #stockmarketcrash
