Trans people’s access to life-changing healthcare has been restricted, yet the authorities relied on assurances without independently verifying those relationships. And even if they were family, being related to someone does not give you ownership of their body or a veto over their healthcare. 2/3

For many trans people, family means rejection, abuse and trauma. This is a monumental failure of judgement, accountability and basic safeguarding. Delaying gender-affirming care can have devastating consequences. This WILL cost lives. 3/3
